In the game of Basketball you will commonly hear the expression, "you can't teach height." What that is referring to is the fact that a coach can teach you a lot of things within the game but they can't teach you to be physically bigger as an individual.

In this article we talk about five prospects that happen to be tall in size, that also have an impactful-type of play-style to back up that height.

Roosevelt High School has alot of lately prospects at a few different positions on the floor. One of those players being 2028 - [player_tooltip player_id='1268356' first='Mariam' last='Noah']. Noah has length and she loves to make moves by the rim. She is an efficient finisher, always cleaning up messes in between the blocks. Noah is a player of opportunity. She jumps to action at a steady rate and her size takes over from that point on. This is a prospect with some real height. With what she has demonstrated over the past 3 months, she has the base to build on moving forward if she sticks with the sport

We mentioned [player_tooltip player_id='1696791' first='Agum' last='Matit'] for the first time to start this week because of her pure size standing between 6'5-6'6. Our whole point of that evaluation was to show that you can't teach size so we are doubling down here. Matit is truly the height she is listed and she is fairly coordinated. She makes a lot of effort plays on both sides of the ball and she works her tail off while trying to get down the floor in a hurry. Coaches can and should want to work with that. By all means, she still has a long ways to go but there is a foundation to work with here. She just needs the opportunity.

We have spoken about [player_tooltip player_id='1169794' first='Emma' last='Ryder'] a handful of times throughout this regular season and it still doesn't seem to be enough with how successful her group has been as of late. Ryder has the combination of size, discipline, guard like coordination, touch, and a smart head on her shoulders as a decision maker that everyone loves to see out of someone that is young in their career. Overall, she has been super effective near the basket this Winter as a Freshman. She has been impressive in putting the ball in the bucket when she is double-teamed but she also has shown the willingness to pass out to open teammates when things become to crowded. There is a lot to love about Ryder's game. She will continue to be placed within the Top Five in her 2029 Class at this rate. She just needs to continue to work on her weaknesses and everything else will fall into place.

You can't create an article about height and keep off 2026 PF - [player_tooltip player_id='582813' first='Ellie' last='Muller'] of Dowling Catholic. As expected Muller has been holding it down for the DC Maroons this Winter for her final go around at the high school level. This comes as no surprise to most of us. Muller is a steady 6'3 and she works around the floor effortlessly. Her athletic build along with her height is a tough combination for any opponent to deal with. Individually and as a team. When you get into the teeth of the DC's defense, if you can do that, Muller and Company will be there waiting to harass you. They like to make your life hell with constant and unique pressures, always keeping you on your toes and usually turning you over several times in the process. Muller has put together an awesome high school up to this point. Hopefully they can finish things on a high note within the 5A Class down the stretch. They have the pieces. They just need to keep working to push through that barrier.

St. Edmond has put together one of their best seasons in a long time and I don't that is a coincidence. It's because they added some young talent to their lineup. Specifically 2029 Center - [player_tooltip player_id='1226071' first='Eden' last='Horn']. Horn is working around the blocks, learning and soaking in all the knowledge she can from her current experiences as we work through the Winter. Right now is getting a ton of repetitions for a Freshman and that is only going to benefit her when she gets to being an upperclassmen. She does a decent job at controlling the lane as an enforcer but she is still working on her confidence as a whole. With that being said, she is still putting up 14 & 14 in the meantime. That is definitely something to note as we continue on.
