Osbourn Park and Gainesville have been a late-season staple, and this game was one of the closest ones they have had in a while. This was a competitive and physical battle throughout, and Osbourn Park eventually prevailed. Keyarah Rainey has been outstanding all year, and she had another great game in this one. Osbourn Park lost senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='448324' first='Samia' last='Snead'] at the end of the first half to a lower leg injury, and I felt like it kind of sucked the air out of the building for a little while. It took a while for OP to get going again, but Rainey steadied the ship. All game, she had her mid-range going, and she got to the line a lot. She is one of the elite drivers in the state, and that twitchiness and skill were on display when she got downhill. She also had 26 earlier in the week in the regional semis as Osbourn Park collected another regional title.

I really enjoyed the bigs battle in Meridian and Skyline's early-week regional semi-final showdown. Bridget Creed always does a great job getting herself in position to catch the ball either from the post or near the rim for a lay-in. She is fundamentally sound and, unlike a lot of other bigs at this level, she has great body control, which allows her to get to her spots and finish over defenders. She was solid on the glass and made a couple of nice defensive plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='1257310' first='Charlotte' last='Lieu'] was outstanding for Meridian this season. She does well playing both guard positions, and her ability to relocate and get her shot off quickly is fun to watch. She handles the ball well and can make plays for others when asked of her. Overall, Skyline did a pretty good job on her, but she still showed the high level of quality she has.

Camilla Diamond's athleticism jumped out to me early in Skyline's close win over Meridian. Camilla ran by players at will, and that showed when she got out and ran in transition following the numerous deflections she got. She is an outstanding passer, and Skyline used her at the free-throw line area as a playmaker in the middle of Meridian's zone. Camilla had a big impact on his game in basically every facet outside of jump shooting, and she finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals.

I mentioned both of the bigs in the Meridian vs. Skyline game were fun to watch. Bridget Creed was the first one, and Taliyah Degroot is the other. Taliyah does a great job moving to get into a good position in the post and under the basket. She had a few nice plays where she sealed players, and she was the recipient of a couple of nice passes under the rim. I loved the way she fought for position both in the post and under the basket for rebounds. She was great on the offensive glass and finished with a double-double while leading Skyline in scoring.
