To open the contest, the Maroons came out composed and locked in. Patient in their offensive sets, reading the floor well, and making the right play rather than forcing anything. Both teams did an excellent job of protecting the ball early — no careless turnovers, no gambling on the defensive end. A disciplined, clean first quarter from both sides setting the tone for what looked to be a well-coached State Final. In the final three quaters Galax started to pull away and made their final push to be state champions.

This freshman standout came into the State Final with one thing on her mind — perform when it matters most. When the ball went up, she picked up right where she left off. She came out of the gate firing, connecting on her first three attempts from beyond the arc to give her team an early lead in the game. No hesitation, no nerves — just a shooter who knew her shot was falling and wasn't afraid to let it go.Her impact didn't stop at the three-point line. Throughout the night she used her quickness to get into the lane, create separation from defenders, and finish plays in traffic and got her teammates involved.

Hawks who is only a freshman made her presence felt on both ends of the floor. At 6'3, she used every inch of her frame to bring energy, physicality, and skill to the defensive end — altering shots, holding her ground in the post, and protecting the paint. Offensively, she wasted no time making her mark — opening her night with fastbreak points and following it up with an and-one attempt, showing she can finish through contact and convert in the open floor.

Skilled big with excellent hands and active feet — not just a stationary post presence. Contests shots at the rim and holds her ground defensively without fouling. Shows the ability to make tough finishes around the basket when the game is on the line, demonstrating poise and touch in traffic. Runs the floor hard rim to rim, giving her team an outlet in transition and making her a threat beyond the half-court setting. A versatile, high-upside big with the tools to develop into a serious prospect at the next level.

Parlett was active and assertive on the offensive end from the jump. Ella showed a strong ability to attack the basket and draw fouls, getting to the line and finishing possessions rather than settling. She knocked down a game-high percentage 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. She was efficient, composed, and reliable under pressure. Ellas ability to get to the line and convert at a high clip is a valuable weapon, showing she knows how to play through contact and finish at the line.
