Players who do the little things, work hard every possession, and do a great job at filling in the gaps for their teams never get enough attention. Here are some key role players that stepped up during the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='1327064' first='Ellie' last='Markus'] - Ellensburg

This squad has a lot of talent and does a great job as playing as a team, always making extra passes and being ready to take advantage of opportunities to score. Ellie fits into the system perfectly, being available on the perimeter at all times and fighting hard on the defensive side. She had a big game against Clarkston, dropping 18 points on 6 of 8 shooting and includes 4/5 from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id='895545' first='Lexi' last='Hermanutz'] - Lynden

Lexi is a key player for this Lions team that has now won 75 straight games and 3 straight 2A titles but when you look at the Lions, they are led by their two future D1 players in Parcher & Mills. Hermanutz fills her role perfectly, being able to score when needed and knock down shots. She's one of the most underrated players in the state and has proved she can play at the colligate level. She scored 17 points on an efficient 6/8 from the field and also pulled down 9 rebounds.

Keelyn Cox - Prosser

Cox is a starter for Prosser but knows her role really well. She plays great defense, staying quick on her feet and having a great reaction time. On offense, she's ready to shoot the ball at all times. She gets open nicely and is able to hit the deep shot at a high %. She shot 4/7 from deep and had 12 points against Ellensburg.

Jocelyn Eshuis - Lynden Christian

Jocelyn is a starter for the Lyncs and really plays a big role for them in the paint. She is strong, rebounding well and being able to box out opponents nicely. She has a soft touch around the rim too. She had 6 points and 10 rebounds (4 offensive) against Annie Wright.

Lily St Mary - Selah

Selah had a fantastic season and I had the opportunity to watch them live when they earned their spot at state. Lily stepped up big that game, hitting shots when the defensive collapsed in on Pepper or Kingston. Lily stays ready and relocates to open spots really nicely. She had 13 points on shooting 3/4 from deep against Ellensburg.
