The WK Sports March Madness Classic: Standouts Pt. 1

Well over 100 teams from multiple states pulled up to Bowling Green, packing 10 courts under one roof, and the energy did not disappoint. From the first tip to the final buzzer, the gym stayed loud, competitive, and full of players ready to make a name for themselves. This event was loaded with talent across all age groups, and these standouts made sure everyone in the building knew exactly who they were.   It was one of the best run events I have been around in every way! We would highly recommend their tournaments going forward.    Derfra Holt shared, "Our events have afforded us the opportunity to meet so many nice people that we would have never met if not for our tournament."   And Kris Fields wanted to make sure we knew, “We are already planning our Bluegrass March Madness 2027 on March 27-28! Our Tournaments are always more than just basketball!! She proved herself as a true three-level scorer, showing the ability to get buckets from anywhere on the floor with confidence. What really separated her, though, was her playmaking ability. She didn't just score, she created opportunities for others and controlled the pace of the game. On the defensive end, she was just as impactful, reading passing lanes and making things difficult for opposing guards. Her all-around game makes her one of the most complete prospects in the gym.     Maliyah Jackson brought toughness, leadership, and consistency every time she stepped on the court. She plays the game the right way and sets the tone with her effort. Defensively, she locked in with strong man-to-man defense, applying pressure and making opponents work for everything. Offensively, she showed her versatility by finishing at the rim through contact and confidently knocking down multiple shots from beyond the arc. Her energy and team-first mentality make her a valuable piece on any roster.     Kymber Graves was a true difference-maker on both ends of the floor. Her quickness immediately stood out, allowing her to create space offensively and stay in front of just about anyone defensively. She plays with a high basketball IQ, always seeming to be in the right place at the right time. Whether it was making the extra pass, forcing a turnover, or locking down her assignment, Kymber impacted the game in multiple ways and proved herself as a high-level defensive specialist with playmaking ability.     [player_tooltip player_id='902292' first='Addy' last='Abrell'] had an outstanding weekend and made her presence felt in a big way. She was knocking down three-pointers from all over the floor, stretching defenses and forcing them to adjust. When defenders closed out, she attacked the rim aggressively and finished strong. Her court vision also stood out, as she consistently made smart reads and set up teammates for easy buckets. On top of that, she contributed defensively with timely plays that helped shift momentum.      Leighton brought a relentless motor and physical presence that was hard to ignore. She controlled the paint on both ends, establishing herself as a dominant post player who could finish through contact and clean up around the rim. What added to her impact was her ability to step out and knock down a mid-range shot, showing she's more than just a traditional post. Her effort, toughness, and consistency made her one of the most reliable performers throughout the weekend.     Jordy showcased a versatile skill set that makes her a player to keep a close eye on moving forward. She has a smooth jumper that extends out to the three-point line, making her a scoring threat from multiple spots on the floor. She's also not afraid of contact, finishing strong at the rim and playing through physical defense. On the other end, she brings strength and intensity, making her a solid defensive presence who can guard multiple positions.     Nellianna is a young talent who already plays well beyond her years. Her ball-handling ability allows her to control the game and confidently attack defenders, and she shows no hesitation playing downhill. She can finish with either hand, which is rare at her age, and makes her extremely tough to stop in transition. Defensively, she competes hard and shows great instincts, proving that her potential is sky-high as she continues to develop
