Yesterday, I highlighted a few players to keep an eye on in the 2028 class as we head into the AAU season. Today, we're looking at some players to learn about before this spring and summer, following their sophomore high school season. Now, let's look at some 2029s to learn about as we inch closer to the first live period of the AAU season coming up in a few weeks.

The Lancaster native is an uber-talented multi-sport talent who will likely bring some more hardware to her school this track season. However, on the court, Olmstead was arguably the most impressive newcomer in the state. She wasn't a player who came in after playing for one of the traditional power programs in the grassroots scene, and was the most impressive player, regardless of class, in Southwest Wisconsin. Her athletic tools, motor, finishing around the basket, and defensive prowess helped her Flying Arrows team win a Regional Title for the first time in about two decades. She will be a player to know over the next handful of years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1241412' first='Gemma' last='Gardow']

The Regis guard fit like a glove next to one of the most talented guards in the 2027 class. Gardow can operate with the ball in her hands and did so at times this season. However, playing off-ball allowed her to be a spot shooter at times, and attack closeouts on the catch, and with her skill, defenders had a hard time keeping her from getting to her spots. She was among the scoring leaders in the 2029 class in her first season and should make an impression in the AAU scene west of the Mississippi River in Minnesota this spring and summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='877660' first='Destinii' last='Green']

The Janesville Craig guard/wing can be a headache for anyone to defend in isolation. Green handles the ball well and has the quickness to beat her defender off the dribble. However, she is also physical enough to go through her defender and finish around the basket. I also like how well she competes around the basket on both ends of the floor. I'm not sure what her ceiling is, but I like what she brings to the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='874404' first='Ava' last='Cumicek']

In Cumicek's first season at Notre Dame, she played as a secondary guard next to a senior who had an excellent year. However, we saw in a spurt in the State Semifinal what Cumicek is capable of with the ball in her hands. She is a player who can create with the ball in her hands and get to her spots offensively. She's a player who could look better than people may expect if they've only seen her play at the high school level.
