Brady Peterson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
The Notre Dame guard slotted into an off-ball role with the talent in the Tritons’ ranks last winter. However, she has a chance to make the lead guard spot her own this coming year as a sophomore. She has looked good with her Purple Aces group, and Notre Dame has traditionally had high-level lead guards, and Cumicek is capable of continuing that trend. She is a physical kid who can play through contact and may be among the best set shooters in the state when she’s at her best.

Notre Dame has had a history of developing young talent, and Cumicek will be the latest in that long line of talented players. Cumicek played an off-ball role most of her first season and had plenty of success in that role. However, in her Purple Aces grassroots season, she has looked comfortable with the ball in her hands and has played through pressure better than she did early in her high school season. Cumicek will continue improving over the next three years and is an excellent place to get the best out of her game.

The Notre Dame guard earned a prominent role for one of the traditional powers in high school basketball in her first season, and did well within it. I thought she got more confident throughout the year and had an excellent stretch in her team’s State Semifinal game. Cumicek is a talented perimeter shooter who can make things happen with the ball in her hands.

The Notre Dame guard is a player whom everyone I’ve talked to in the Northeast part of the state has been a massive fan of. Cumicek has played a role alongside talented players for the Tritons and excelled as a floor spacer in her first season of high school basketball. Cumicek will show more of her talent as a playmaker as some of her teammates graduate, but it says a lot that her coaches trust her as a newcomer at one of the traditional powers in high school basketball in Wisconsin.

, a 5’6 PG/SG, has been her team’s source for a lot of production on both sides of the ball on Saturday afternoon. Offensively, she is running the PG spot, finding others in transition and making the most of her opportunities off the catch or dribble. Defensively, she is picking up her opponent in the 3/4 court and getting her hands on tips/deflections at a steady rate, leading to easy buckets in transition for herself or her fellow teammates. You can tell that Cumicek is a focus for her team’s production. They run a lot of sets for her offensively or at least they seem to today and that stood out.
