Early Spring AAU Standouts

While attending and catching a few games via stream I've had the opportunity to catch some great games featuring some really great talent. Below I'll cover some of the more intriguing prospects I've seen. We are still only at the beginning of the AAU season so much more is up ahead.    Adams was simply unstoppable in the game I was able to catch her in. She dominated the boards racking up 10 rebounds in the first half and finishing the game with 16. She was dominant on both ends in the paint. She was a productive scorer who could score inside well and shot 2 for 3 beyond the arc. She finished 7 for 11 on her FG attempts finishing with 18 points. Adams was one of the more impactful players I've seen up to this point who plays well composed and with confidence. Plays very unselfish and still fills out the stat sheet. Coaches need to keep an eye Adams as she will only continue to develop into a strong prospect.     Jayda looks every bit of a complete player you want playing on your team. Shes a very strong body who plays physical and at a very high level. She always seems unphased by any look her opponents give her and just makes play after play. She can muscle her way through the paint scoring well through contact while drawing fouls. Has a good three ball but will also dribble move off the pump fake the get a high percentage mid range. Has the size, speed and strength to guard any position. Rebounds the ball extremely well. Jayda has already gathered attention from colleges and that list will only grow this off season.     Elam has started the spring season off looking great on the court. A wing who can shoot of the catch and hit from outside the perimeter consistently. She has a very nice mid range shot to go along with it. Strong and physical in the paint. Great rebounding ability and a very disciplined shot blocker. Elam has great footwork and moves with purpose around the floor. Did very well in the pick and roll game. Showed the ability to guard every position. Elam looks like a promising prospect in the 2027 class. She has good size, great IQ. great work ethic and skill to attract coaches at the next level.     Wood plays with a very strong motor. She is a tall body with a good wingspan who defends the paint very well. She is a very effective defender out on the perimeter as well as in transition. Great shot blocking ability and strong on the boards. Did very well on second chance scoring opportunities and has a strong and accurate pass. She has a solid handle on the ball. Wood is still very young and has elevated her game very much in the last year. She has developed a really good three ball and continues to show she has the skill and ability to be an effective play maker and scorer.     Adger has been one of my favorite defenders to watch so far. She is an absolute nightmare for her opponents as she consistently applies full court defense and forces many turnovers. She has high energy and plays physical. Is incredibly quick in the fast break and will score off a steal before her opponents have time to adjust. She rebounds the ball very well out hustling and out muscling her opponents. One of the more impactful players who does the "dirty" work on the court and takes pride in it. Adger has the mentality and skill to continue to develop into a sought after guard in the 2028 class.     A very quick and shift guard who is very skilled with the ball. She has a quick step she'll use with a dribble move to blow by her opponents and get to the basket. Showed off a high percentage three ball off the catch from well beyond the college line. Made good reads and strong passes, sees the court very well through pressure. On the defensive side Gross defends the length of the court. She plays very tight on her opponent and moves very well. Quick hands that'll poke out the ball and shes quick to take it the other way. Very strong defender in transition.     Woolford is a strong presence in the paint for the Tucson Spartans 17U National team. She is a very skilled shot blocker and rebounds the ball extremely well. Great post footwork and can score the ball with either hand off the glass. She has a long stride she uses to move well on the court and covers a lot of ground quickly. Her lengthy wingspan creates problems for opponents. Plays every possession at a high level. A high impact player who recently just announced her commitment to the newly crowned NJCAA Division 2 National Champions , The Pima CC Aztecs.     Medina continues to elevate her stock as one of the top two way guards in Southern Arizona. A tough and physical player. Great finisher through contact. Drives through the paint and makes great passes through traffic. Fearless, will take multiple charges a game and dive for the loose ball. She has developed a great all around game and will is a player Coaches will want to take a look at. Coaches can catch her this off-season with the Tucson Swarm 17U squad and at Section 7 in June with the Sunnyside Blue Devils.
