Unpopular opinion: Medina might just be the top overall guard in the Southern Arizona 2027 class. She has elite vision, can change her pace/direction at a high level and just makes plays. Plays the game with a strong motor. Makes the hustle plays and takes charges. Defensively is one of the best in the state. Has shown the ability to guard some of the top “ranked” guards effectively. Strong leader and impacts winning at a high level.

Medina is arguably the top two way guard in the Southern Arizona 2027 class. Coaches looking for a lead guard who can operate an offense at a high level need to look at Medina. She can score at will. High percentage shooter from the perimeter but will get a good chunk of her production from attacking the paint. High level passer. Guards the length of the court and will force turnovers. Takes charges and is an all out hustle player. A vocal leader who sets the tone with her play. Will fill the stat sheet. Coaches can catch

As a fan of defensive playmakers watching Medina play is always exciting. She averaged 4.0 steals per game including a season high 12 against Gila Ridge. A relentless on ball defender who is a nightmare for opposing guards. Patient on the offensive end allowing plays to develop and making high level reads against the defense. Her 5.6 assist per game ranked fifth in the state. Medina thrived in physical games scoring the ball well through contact. One of the top facilitators in the state. Medina was selected as the 6A South Region Co-Defensive Player of the Year.

Medina continues to elevate her stock as one of the top two way guards in Southern Arizona. A tough and physical player. Great finisher through contact. Drives through the paint and makes great passes through traffic. Fearless, will take multiple charges a game and dive for the loose ball. She has developed a great all around game and will is a player Coaches will want to take a look at. Coaches can catch her this off-season with the Tucson Swarm 17U squad and at Section 7 in June with the Sunnyside Blue Devils.

Medina showed this past high school season she is one of the top two way guards in the state. She has great defensive skill and a strong ability to lead the offense. A very physical player who gets the job done. I’ve seen a lot of her game play on the court this season and shes impressive every time. To see her leadership and high level of play in a practice setting was great. She held her team accountable, was the example for how the drills needed to be done and led in all areas. Medina is a high impact player who will play at the next level. She will start getting attention this off-season going into her senior year.

Medina has been one of my favorite guards to watch play this season. She does everything on both sides of the ball you’d want from your lead guard. She is very vocal, a terrific defender, handles the ball well and has elite vision. Medina can get to the paint and scores effectively through contact. Medina finished as the Defensive Player of the Year in the 6A South region. She averaged 9.3 points, 5.6 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 4 steals per game while leading the Blue Devils to another 6A South Region Championship and 6A State quarterfinal finish where they lost to the eventual state champions by 1 point. I expect a strong off season that should see Medinas recruitment start to gain some traction.

Im always impressed when watching Medina play. She sees the game at an elite level on both sides of the ball. A true point guard who controls the pace of the game. A skilled dribbler who allows the play to develop and executes quickly and effectively if she spots a weakness in the defense. Hustles in transition and came up with some huge blocks for the Sunnyside Blue Devils. I expect Medina to be a highly sought after guard in the 2027 class from Southern Arizona.

No question Medina is on of the top two way guards in the state. She has one of the best defensive and just overall IQs I’ve seen this season. Making high level reads and executing on them. Shes put up 11.3 points, 4.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 4.2 steals per game. She is on of the most consistent players on her production every game. Very tough. Will drive the lane and score through tough contact, get up shake it off then knock down the free throw and the get a steal the very next play. Nothing seems to phase her. Shes a tone setter and makes great on court adjustments. Just another hidden gem in a talented Sunnyside roster.

Medina leads a very deep Sunnyside team. Communicates well with her team. Handles the ball well. Strong in transition as well as in traffic. Pass first getting her team involved but can score at a high level. Does great in the pick and roll getting the ball to its target. Medina rebounds very well. Forced many turnovers on the defensive end. One of the top two way guards in her class.
