2028 Rankings Update: Major Movers

With another completed season of GHSA basketball and half of the travel ball season finished, several players in the 2028 class in Georgia made major moves up the rankings improving their position with outstanding play. Several of these players have garnered the attention of multiple college programs and some have received BIG scholarship offers as a result. These players have been competing and excelling on the highest levels of competition in both high school and travel ball over the past several months. Congratulations and well deserved to those who earned a higher ranking!    Thompson' stellar play was rewarded by the coaching staff at St. John's University with a scholarship offer at the end of April. There are more on the way for Thompson, who previously played with [program_tooltip program_id='713452' first='FBC' last=''] Supreme Team and is now playing with [program_tooltip program_id='713452' first='FBC' last=''] United The Family. Thompson had all the physical attributes you look for in a player and has continued to put in work with Coach Bernard Pitts. She plays the game with controlled aggression and continues to add to her offensive arsenal. Thompson has shown the ability to lock up productive scoring guards for opposing teams and rebounds the ball very well for her position. Clearly her efforts are paying off and Tori moves up from 29 to 10.     Taryn looks the part of a legit division one player when she is walks on the court before the game even starts. She is a tall, long kid who knows where the weight room is.Taryn has held down the paint in around 8-10 game Is have seen her play this Spring and Summer for [program_tooltip program_id='1237402' first='HER' last='Elite']'s 16U and 17U EYBL teams. She is explosive getting off the floor with a long wingspan, which gives her the ability to affect the game on both ends of the court. Dixon is becoming a real problem in the paint scoring efficiently while also control the boards and protecting the rim with her shot-blocking ability. Taryn was behind two major college signees at Hebron Christian the last two years, but it's her time now. I expect her have multiple division offers before she returns to school as a junior at the conclusion of this Summer. She should be flying up college recruiter's boards after taking huge strides in her game.     Harris is player who has been quietly racking up the interest and scholarship offers of colleges like Coppin State as she has helped lead the Legacy 16U P32 squad to a very impressive Spring and start to the Summer. Harris has excellent fundamentals on the offensive end where she is very effective scoring the basketball. She has near perfect form on her jumpsuit and has the ability to create the necessary space to get her shots off, while also making continued improvements getting to the basket off the dribble. She did a great job facilitating the offense for her team when I watched the play at Select Events Live at Lakepoint against a very good East Tennessee Air team with college guards she was matched up with.     I was able to watch Wheeler at the 4 Tha Culture MLK event at Whitefield Academy late in the high school this year. Landrew's team had the first game of the morning and she did not waste anytime positively impacting the game. When I saw her recently at Peach Games she continued her outstanding play helping to lead her Team Elite Hubbard 16U 3SSB team in impressive fashion. Landrew can put the ball in the basket and I knew that coming into the event, but she played a different position than I had seen her for Wheeler. Cailyn played the point guard position for a large majority of the weekend and looked very good doing so. Her ability to effectively play three positions on the court at a high level elevates her position in the rankings. She currently holds offers from University of Maryland-Baltimore County, Delaware State, Stony Brook, Georgia State, and Winthrop. I expect that list to grow before the end of the Summer.     Paisley was a key piece for Heritage in their Cinderella-like run to the state championship this past season in GHSA's AAA classification. Collins averaged an impressive double-double for the season scoring 10 points per game while also hauling in over 13 rebounds. She gave her team a consistent scoring threat in the post throughout the playoffs, but really stood out in the last two games. She is a very smooth finisher with her left hand around the basket, has very good size and strength, and runs the floor very well for her size. Collins is absolutely a future college player who I project to very good on the Division Two level now with room to grow with two years left in high school. If she can show college coaches that she can consistently knock down midrange jumpers to stretch the defense, she could elevate herself to a Division One prospect without question.     Sadie, coming off back to back All Region seasons to start her high school career, has had a very impressive first travel ball season with [program_tooltip program_id='1819777' first='[program_tooltip program_id='713452' first='FBC' last='']' last='NextUp']. With a backcourt full of guards who can score, Chambers has become the primary distributor for her team. She is an excellent athlete who thrives pushing the ball on the break, but is equally capable of hurting defenses with dribble penetration in the backcourt. She has shown very good vision finding her teammates on the perimeter and in the paint consistently putting them in positions to score the basketball. Sadie is more than capable of putting the ball in the basket herself as she is a reliable shooter from the midrange and three point range, and [program_tooltip program_id='1237402' first='HER' last='Elite'] athleticism and explosiveness getting to the rim keeps defenses off balance. It's no surprise she holds her school record for high jump at 5'6" and finished third in the state of Georgia's AAAAA classification in the high jump. She was also the quarterback for the Flag Football team at Habersham this past season.
