I was able to watch Wheeler at the 4 Tha Culture MLK event at Whitefield Academy late in the high school this year. Landrew’s team had the first game of the morning and she did not waste anytime positively impacting the game. When I saw her recently at Peach Games she continued her outstanding play helping to lead her Team Elite Hubbard 16U 3SSB team in impressive fashion. Landrew can put the ball in the basket and I knew that coming into the event, but she played a different position than I had seen her for Wheeler. Cailyn played the point guard position for a large majority of the weekend and looked very good doing so. Her ability to effectively play three positions on the court at a high level elevates her position in the rankings. She currently holds offers from University of Maryland-Baltimore County, Delaware State, Stony Brook, Georgia State, and Winthrop. I expect that list to grow before the end of the Summer.

Landrew continues trending upward with another poised and productive performance. The athletic wing brings strength, balance and scoring versatility every time she steps on the floor. In a tight win over Winners United EYCL, Cailyn delivers steady offense while impacting the game on both ends.
Landrew is a true three-level scorer who attacks defenders with confidence. She moves fluidly with the basketball and quickly gets to her spots off the bounce. Her strength allows her to absorb contact while maintaining balance attacking downhill. Cailyn shows touch from the mid-range, gets out in transition for coast-to-coast finishes and consistently capitalizes at the foul line.
What stands out most is how composed she looks throughout the game. Landrew never appears rushed and continues making efficient plays offensively while competing defensively. The stock-rising wing keeps building momentum heading deeper into the summer.

She’s a three-level scoring threat. Cailyn plays with balance and can swiftly take her man off the dribble to get to her spots. She nailed two mid-range jumpers and went coast-to-coast for her three buckets while adding a perfect 6-6 from the foul line.

Landrew brings steady three-level production to the floor. Cailyn has the size and skill to attack in a variety of ways. Just like her older brother, Landrew is exceptional at absorbing contact to finish through fouls. She finishes with both hands downhill and is a dangerous outside shooter with three-point range. Landrew keeps pressure on defenses. She shot 6-7 from the foul line to finish with 15 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block against Winners United.

Cailyn was another player at Peach Games that for one reason or another ended up playing an entirely different position, point guard, than I had ever seen her play before for a large portion of the event. Brandon Fisher was sitting next to me and we both were more than impressed with how good a job Cailyn did. you would never have known that was not her natural position. She turned the ball over less than a handful of times the whole event, initiated and facilitated the offense for her team, and her passes were on time and target allowing her teammates to capitalize on their scoring opportunities. Andrew also capitalized on her own scoring chances from all three levels. I know she can put the ball in the basket in a variety of ways, so she that was no surprise. Her shot selection was great in the half court and her speed and skill still allowed her to get her usual buckets in transition. Cailyn’s stock went way up for me seeing her play the toughest position on the floor for the first time over the course of multiple games. I know she is a very talented wing player, so the versatility she showed playing the point should draw the attention of even more college coaches.

Cailyn leads her 16U team both by example and with her communication and consistently setting the tone on the floor. She stepped up to make some big plays late in the game while showing confidence in key moments. Her activity level stood out as she kept possessions alive and finished well at the rim. Cailyn also showed strong intangibles by sprinting to help teammates up and bringing a team-first energy that doesn’t go unnoticed.

. Landrew scored 29 points for Wheeler in the loss showing a vast array of moves and finishes. Landrew does a really nice job going left off the dribble and finishing as a natural right-handed player. She knocked down shots from the midrange and behind the three-point line as well. Her biggest strength is attacking the basket and using her footwork in traffic to score. Landrew has excellent footwork playing off the pivot and finishing a very nice lay-up off the Euro step on the fast break. Landrew is player that could see her ranking improve as the season goes on.

She did a great job chasing down her own miss and converting the second chance bucket. She made an impact on the boards despite, at times, giving up inches. Attacked from the wing and maintained high energy throughout; a motor that just kept going and going.

Cailyn did a great job of handling the ball under pressure and controlling the pace at the 16U level on Saturday. She hit a couple really sweet pull-up jumpers in transition and has a nice looking shot from long range. I was really impressed by her ball handling skills and ability to get to the basket with her crossover. Cailyn ended the weekend scoring 10 ppg at one level above her class.
