Currently ranked #12 in the Palmetto State, Jakelle was in full attack mode all afternoon. Hailing from Eau Claire High School the lefty showed off her quickness time and time again to attack the basket. She was the leading scorer for her team in each game yesterday while showing range from outside, touch from the paint, and the ability to finish through multiple defenders and contact at the rim.

Two years after Eau Claire won a 2A Upper State championship, the Shamrocks appear to have already found its immediate future. Nunez is that immediate future at an Eau Claire program that will drop in classification from 2A to 1A once the 2026-27 season commences. She competed in all 21 of the Shamrocks’ games last season. Nunez averaged 13.2 points, 3.4 steals and 3.1 rebounds per contest. Nunez played up in class over the spring and summer with Palmetto Pressure 15U on the NE2K circuit and more than displayed that she belongs on the same court against more experienced competition. Nunez played her middle school ball at Irmo MS.

Nunez was one of two eighth-graders on the 2025-26 version of Eau Claire – a school that will be moving from the 2A ranks down to 1A when the 2026-27 season commences. Considering the seniors that the Shamrocks had graduated from its 2024-25 team that won an Upper State championship, it was expected Eau Claire would have a drop off in 2025-26. Nunez was a bright spot on a team where four of its five victories occurred against region opponents. After a high school season where she averaged 13.2 points, 3.4 steals and 3.1 rebounds in 21 contests, Nunez is running with Palmetto Pressure on the travel circuit.

Nunez established herself as the signature name for 2A Eau Claire last season. The Shamrocks may have encountered their struggles on the court, but Nunez was consistent from start to finish last season in her breakout eighth grade season in green an orange. One can place Nunez as either a point guard or at the two. She would compete in all 21 games last season for Eau Claire and averaged 13.2 points, 3.4 steals and 3.1 rebounds per game. When the 2026-27 high school season tips off, Eau Claire will be a 1A team. Nunez was one of two from the class of 2030 on last season’s Shamrocks team.
