LIVE at LakePoint: Stock Risers and Standouts

The May live period is one of the most important evaluation weekends of the spring, and LIVE at LakePoint once again served as a major stop for college programs recruiting and prospective student-athletes in the Southeast. With NCAA-certified competition, high-level matchups, and packed sidelines throughout the weekend, several prospects elevated their stock with strong performances on both ends of the floor. I can't watch every team or watch every game, but here are a few that raised their stock and stood out in the time I watched them:    Caeli stood out with the way she used her length and timing to protect the rim and disrupt plays defensively. She attacked the boards aggressively, consistently following shots and finding ways to come up with rebounds around the basket. One of her better plays came on a putback tip-in that showcased her motor and awareness on the glass. She also knocked down some quality mid-range shots with a high release and showed encouraging feel and effectiveness in pick-and-roll action.     Ava consistently pressured the defense with her quick burst and ability to get downhill using her speed and handle. She attacked gaps aggressively, played with pace in the open floor, and showed touch on her floater once she got into the lane. Defensively, she stood out as a ball hawk who stayed active throughout the game and did a good job keeping the ball in front of her.     Makenna showed a strong all-around offensive game throughout the weekend and impressed with her versatility. She was comfortable bringing the ball up the floor, creating offense, and operating from multiple areas on the court. Her mid-range game looked especially polished, and she also showed deep range by knocking down multiple long-range threes. One of her more impressive sequences came when she attacked the basket off the dribble and delivered a nice pass to her post player for an easy bucket.     Jayla immediately made an impact, grabbing an offensive rebound and converting a putback bucket on the very first possession I saw. She stayed active on the glass throughout the game and also showed her hustle by diving on the floor for a loose ball after creating a deflection defensively. Offensively, she displayed versatility with a nice back-to-the-basket turnaround over-the-shoulder finish and also showed the ability to stretch the floor with a high release on her outside shot when left open. Her length was a major factor defensively, allowing her to block shots and disrupt passing lanes consistently.     Cam's size and length were hard to miss and made her one of the more intriguing new players I saw this weekend. She impacted the game with her work on the glass, including an offensive rebound putback and multiple possessions where she kept plays alive through effort and activity. She also did a good job rebounding defensively and immediately looking up the floor to hit the point guard with an outlet pass. Offensively, she showed nice touch on a floater in the lane to go along with her physical presence around the basket.     Gianna's size and frame make her a difficult matchup, especially with the skill set she brings offensively. She showed the ability to post up smaller players, score from multiple levels, and create shots with a clean pull-up game and reliable outside shooting. Her handle and footwork stood out for a player with her size, and she consistently used physicality to carve out space and establish strong positioning on the floor.     Zoe brought energy and playmaking every time she stepped on the floor. Her quickness and handle allowed her to break down defenders and get to the rim in a variety of ways, and she showed creativity once she got into the lane. She also stretched the floor by shooting the three-ball well throughout the weekend, making her a tough matchup offensively no matter her size.
