MI College Tour III Grand Valley: Playmakers Set the Table

The PGH MI College Tour made its third stop at Grand Valley State University, where a full slate of games across both gyms kept the energy high throughout the day. While action was taking place in multiple locations, I was stationed in the rec gym from start to finish on Saturday, getting an up-close look at the 15U, 16U, and 17U groups as they took the floor.   The focus this time around shifted to the players who made everything run, as playmakers set the table throughout the day. From the morning session into the afternoon, several prospects stood out with their ability to control tempo, break down defenses, and create opportunities for others. Whether it was delivering precise passes, making the right reads under pressure, or pushing the pace in transition, these players consistently put their teammates in position to succeed. With college coaches in attendance, the decision-making, vision, and overall feel for the game were on full display, as these playmakers showed just how valuable they are to their teams.    Mack, a point guard for the Goonies, showcased her playmaking ability during the MI College Tour III stop at Grand Valley on Saturday. She handled the ball with confidence and poise, making smart decisions and keeping her team organized offensively. She also proved she could score when needed, knocking down shots from beyond the arc. On the defensive end, she was active with quick hands, coming away with multiple steals. Her feel for the game and overall basketball IQ stood out throughout her performance.     Ava, a wing for Indiana Game, made her presence felt as a playmaker during the MI College Tour III stop at Grand Valley on Saturday with her ability to impact the game in multiple ways. She showed a polished mid-range game and used strong footwork to finish effectively around the basket. Defensively, she was disruptive—anticipating passes, stepping into passing lanes, and forcing turnovers. She also did a great job establishing position inside, sealing defenders to create opportunities near the rim. Ava contributed on the glass, battled for loose balls, and came up with blocks, consistently making winning plays on both ends of the floor. She was crafty finishing around the rim, highlighted by an impressive and-one using an inside-hand finish. She also showed range, connecting on shots from beyond the arc. On the defensive end, she competed with toughness, using active hands to come up with multiple steals and create extra opportunities for her team.     Leah, a guard for the Mystics, made a strong impression as a playmaker during the MI College Tour III stop at Grand Valley on Saturday. She used her length and ball-handling ability to navigate the floor with confidence, making smart decisions and keeping the offense flowing. She also showed she could stretch the defense, knocking down shots from beyond the arc. On the defensive end, she stayed engaged and competed, using her size and awareness to make an impact.     Brynnly, a guard for MBA, stood out as a playmaker during the MI College Tour III stop at Grand Valley on Saturday with her athleticism and ability to create. She used her quickness and tight handle to keep defenders off balance and make plays off the dribble. She also showed confidence from deep, knocking down shots from beyond the arc. Her motor was constant, bringing energy on every possession and making hustle plays that gave her team an edge.
