Mack received First Team LVC All-Conference honors, averaging a productive 12.3 points, 4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.4 steals per game for South Lyon East. She picked up right where she left off, standing out for Michigan Goonies 17U E40 at the PGH MI College Tour. Mack drove hard to the rim and finished through contact for an and-one layup. She penetrated a gap, pivoted to create a scoring angle, and dropped in a floater. Mack penetrated off the dribble again and reached around a contesting defender to score a layup from a difficult angle. She threw a bounce pass on the money to a cutter for an assist and impressed with her crafty ball-handling, court vision, and finishing dexterity around the basket.

Mack was efficient and effective for South Lyon East at the Airport Showcase. She looks very confident and comfortable with her new squad. Mack pushed the tempo with her dribble in transition, scanned the court, and distributed pinpoint passes to open teammates. She buried a smooth corner three off the hop and added another confident triple from the wing. Mack’s poised presence at point guard, shifty dribble penetration, defensive awareness, and perimeter shooting are making a huge impact for the Cougars this season. She had nine points in the win.

Mckenley is a savvy left-handed point guard for the Michigan Goonies E40 who made her presence felt on Saturday at The Smoke. She excels in the open floor, consistently making sharp passes in transition and finding teammates in stride. Mack has a strong feel for the game – always making the right reads and putting herself in good positions with her decision-making. She also showed her shooting touch, knocking down a couple of smooth jumpers from the top of the key, adding another layer to her already well-rounded game.

Mack was dynamic for Goonies 17U at the Mystics Get Ready tourney on Saturday. She split defenders with her quick crossovers and finished several tough layups through contact. Mack led her defenders into screens very well and abruptly turned the corner to drive north/south. She got the edge with a spin dribble and transferred the ball to score a difficult floater over a shot-blocker. Mack split defenders to score another layup off a DHO and walled up to block a transition layup on defense. She converted free throws efficiently from the charity stripe and was one of the best finishers of the day.

Marian had a roster full of upperclassmen depth at the guard spot last season, but that didn’t stop Mckenley from earning a significant role in the starting lineup. Mack uses a variety of combo dribbles to beat defenders off the dribble with a quick burst. She finishes layups from difficult angles in contested situations and has excellent footwork. Mack shoots with accuracy off the bounce in the mid-range and is a dangerous 3-point shooter off ball screens. Her anticipation of passes creates steals on defense and she dishes strong passes to open teammates. I expect Mack to follow up her All-League freshman season with an even better sophomore year for the Mustangs.

Reid had a great spring grassroots season, and that momentum has carried over into the summer session, starting with The Mitten Summer Showdown. She excels at creating opportunities for herself and her teammates. During a game, she used a spin move in the lane to draw multiple defenders and then passed the ball to an open shooter. In a close game with less than a minute remaining, she made a crucial 3-pointer from the wing, displaying her composure under pressure. I’m looking forward to watching more of Mac’s games this summer.

Reid is a skilled Point Guard who is adept at creating opportunities for both herself and her teammates. She has a keen ability to assess the situation and make the right decision once she gets the ball into the lane. In addition, she has a remarkable shooting ability and made several impressive shots from beyond the arc. Notably, I cannot recall her missing a single shot from the corner throughout the entire weekend.
