More Notable Performers on Day One of Battle in the Badger State

I spent my day up in Appleton watching some games at the select events tournament happening at the Champions Center. I saw a handful of players who stood out in the games I watched today, and before we close the day, we will look at a few prospects who stood out to me in their own ways. Let's look at a few standouts before day two tips off tomorrow morning.    The Mukwonago wing continued to play well for a 24:Up team even though they were playing with six players today due to various circumstances. Cochenet attacked the basket well and used her length to finish over the top of defenders around the rim. I also liked how well she used her athleticism to make plays on both ends of the floor. She had another solid showing this spring.     One of the younger players who stood out to me is the younger sister of an incoming UWGB freshman who recently led Elkhorn to a State Tournament. The younger Lile showed excellent touch around the basket and excelled at scoring with ball fakes in the paint. She had some excellent pump fakes that got her defenders off their feet, creating space for her when she would pick up her dribble. She's a skilled frontcourt prospect with the tools to be an excellent talent over the next four seasons.     The talent Jackson has is undeniable, and you can see flashes of what she can be when she's at her best. She has the tools to be a mismatch hunter and score from all three levels offensively. Jackson is also comfortable handling the ball and creating her shot off the dribble. She had her moments in a competitive game this morning and showed flashes of what she could be at her best. She will be a player to keep tabs on over the next year. She has all the tools to take another step at any moment.     McGowan missed her first season of high school basketball due to a knee injury, so today was the first day I saw her play. I thought she had a solid showing today and excelled on the defensive side of the ball. She's a handsy defender and got her hands on the to generate live-ball turnovers at the point of attack. As a defender, she has the tools to swing a game in a few possessions as an on-ball defender.
