NYSSWA All-Stars from Section 2 Who Return in 26-27-Class C

The New York State Sportswriters Association recently announced its New York all-star teams for 2026. Several players from Section 2 were selected at the various levels. Many of the all-stars are seniors who will move on to the college ranks. However, several talented underclassmen will return in 2026-2027. Here is a look at some of the NYSSWA all-stars from Section 2 who will return next season in Class C.    Only a sophomore, [player_tooltip player_id='1812283' first='Maddie' last='Chatt'] was selected to the New York State Class C seventh team. Chatt has two more years to rise the chart, and she likely will. Chatt is already one of the best outside shooters in Section 2. Chatt is equally effective shooting 3-pointers from the wing, corner, or top of the key. She has excellent footwork and a quick release. She can also score by beating defenders off the dribble, pulling up to hit midrange jumpers, or scoring in transition. Chatt is very good on the defensive end of the floor as well. Her numbers should continue to rise next season.     Like Chatt, [player_tooltip player_id='1862303' first='Andie' last='Luskin'] was named to the New York State Class C all-star seventh team. Luskin is an outstanding overall athlete who also excels on the volleyball court, where she has recorded over 1,000 career kills. Luskin is a solid finisher in the paint. She has a soft shooting touch, and her tall, wiry frame makes her difficult to defend. Luskin is skilled in the low post and displays very good footwork. Her length and wingspan make her an excellent defender and basket protector. Luskin is a tremendous rebounder and a consistent finisher after pulling down boards.     Molly Shaver was selected as a New York State Class C honorable mention player. That's a pretty impressive designation for a freshman. Shaver was also named the WAC Most Valuable Player for 2026—an incredible feat given the depth of talent in that league. Shaver is just scratching the surface of how good she can be. Shaver averaged 19.5 points per game and nailed 52 3-pointers for the Bulldogs this season. She has already played several important games on the big stage. She is a solid shooter from the perimeter, including from behind the arc. Shaver plays with tremendous poise and control for her age. She can play the point or off the ball equally well. Shaver will be a player with the spotlight shining on her next season.     Olivia Kirker is an extremely athletic multi-sport athlete. Kirker was named to the Class C honorable mention list. Look for Kirker to take steps forward next season. Kirker is the player that every coach loves to have. She is effective at both ends of the floor. She can run the floor well and finishes strong in transition. Kirker is a superior scorer in the paint. She posts up well and uses her solid footwork to finish. Kirker is a talented defender and skilled shot blocker. She is relentless on the boards. Kirker's engine is always running at a high level.     [player_tooltip player_id='1814754' first='Addison' last='Thornton'] is the cream of the crop of this group. Thorton led Stillwater to the state championship game in 2025 and the sectional final this season. Thornton is a dominating scorer who can put the rock in the hoop from three levels. Thorton has a smooth shooting touch, whether beyond the arc or from the midrange. Thornton's signature move is a step-back 3-point shot. She is strong, getting to the bucket, and finishing. She is an outstanding ball-handler who can dissect defenses and dish to open teammates. Thorton's long arms make her an outstanding on-the-ball defender.
