PGH Midwest Extravaganza: More Impact-Makers At 16U

Olague is one of those that might not kill you with fancy moves but with hard work and fundamentals. She is always the hardest working individual on the floor and that says something to her character. She knows that as long as she stays consistent in her effort, she is going to standout in one way or another when it boils down to it. Sometimes you can tell when someone is dedicated enough to make it to the next level and this is one of those situations. Adedigba started things off on fire on Saturday morning while helping her team to an overtime win. It was a messy battle between two programs but DUT Academy 16U came out on top by scoring during OT than holding the opposition to O points the rest of the way. Among the group of those guards was Elin Hindman of St. Laurence High School and Midwest Magic 16U. Hindman kept things on lock as her team's SG this weekend. She stood out as someone that could score from all three offensive levels and she understands the mental side of the game at such a high rate that those two factors combined for an unfair advantage at times. It helps score, get to her spots, and assist others when those opportunities present themselves. The Midwest Magic group has some kids that can GO. Lightning in a bottle. A consistent game-impactor. These are a few terms or phrases you could use to describe Lya Phuong of DUT Academy 16U. Phuong isn't the tallest prospect but she makes up for that with her positive energy and play making ability when the time is right. She has a good feel for things when the ball is in her position and she is always on the move, making herself a tough guard for opponents that might try to get in her way. If you are looking for someone that brings it every time she laces up her kicks, look no further. Reddington moved all around the floor and stepped up with whatever her team needed in that given moment. She is the type that doesn't need the ball to necessarily produce on the offensive end. She moves well enough and cuts when her defender falls asleep, which leads to some easy buckets behind the teeth of the defense. Defensively, she is ready for any challenge. She is at her best when she has to deal with another CG but that doesn't mean she won't step up and attempt whatever is put in her way. EDOM Elite has some nice pieces on the roster.
