The Top 17U Standouts At Midwest Extravaganza (Day Two)

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The last day of our two day event started off with a packed court, and it kept that level of attention for most of the day for the 17U matchups. Below are my top standouts from the final day of the Extravaganza</h3>    There wasn't a player in the building that I watched who showed more heart than Krutul. In a game most people would have counted this program out of, she didn't care who was lined up across from her. She's active and aware, and she plays with a motor that never seems to stop. Time after time, she created problems immediately after the inbound, crashed the boards, and earned her team extra possessions through pure effort and toughness. Skill wise, she brings more than you initially expect. The footwork is solid, the shooting form is clean, and she has a knack for getting to her spots and playing within herself. When you combine that with her competitiveness and willingness to impact every possession, it's easy to see why she's a player worth following. Huge fan of this kid, and she has strong potential moving forward.     You have to love a player who gives their all during every possession, regardless if theyre in the play or not. Place brings high energy, high awareness, and stays in constant motion. She was a big reason why Team Compete had a ton of second possessions and put a ton of pressure on players near the rim for rebounds. From an offensive standpoint, there is skill there, and she knows how to finish at the rim with or without contact.     Jenkins took control of the last game on day 2, and there wasn't much you could do to stop her from scoring at will. She got to the rim with ease and knocked down pull up threes as well as catch-and-shoot threes. The size plays no part in how aggressively she plays the game. A player that coaches will need to keep an eye on as July comes around.     Bennett plays twice her size, and it brings major impact on the defensive end of the floor. She gets up under her matchup and rarely gives them any room to breathe. She's active in the passing lanes and shows high IQ and communication, too. Her energy outweighs her size. Big fan.     Patrick is one of those rare players who continues to play hard despite being the focal point of the offense. She dove on the floor multiple times for loose balls, sprinted after long rebounds, and made her presence felt in every area of the game while still being a force from a scoring standpoint. She can get it going at all three levels, but seems most comfortable attacking the rim. The motor, toughness, and willingness to do the little things stand out just as much as the skill set. A player to truly keep an eye on for this Edom Elite program.
