<p>There is nothing like cutting down the nets on championship night. Heated rivalries, packed gyms, and pride on the line. The 47th District Tournament brought every bit of that energy. From clutch shots to momentum swings and standout performances, this tournament reminded everyone why Kentucky high school basketball is special. Every possession mattered, every crowd reaction felt louder, and the intensity never let up.</p>

<p>The tournament, hosted by Casey County High School, opened with Pulaski County setting the tone early. The Lady Maroons came out aggressive and locked in from the opening tip, defeating Somerset 68-65. Their defensive pressure completely disrupted the flow of the game, and offensively they played with confidence and pace all night long.</p>

<p>On the other side of the bracket, Rockcastle County simply delivered, beating the host Casey County 63-35. The Lady Rockets showed toughness, poise, and championship composure in a hostile environment, making key plays when it mattered most.</p>

<p>That win set up a highly anticipated championship showdown between two talented teams, and the title game absolutely delivered. Rockcastle County battled through a physical, emotional back-and-forth game with Pulaski County, earning a 56-45 victory to capture their second straight district championship. The Lady Rockets played with confidence all night, answering every Pulaski push with huge shots and timely defensive stops. Their experience, offensive balance, and ability to execute under pressure proved to be the difference as they celebrated another district crown.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Senior Taylor King once again showed why she has been one of the best players in the region all season long. She poured in a team-high 16 points, knocked down three shots from deep, and grabbed 6 rebounds. Taylor played with confidence every possession and came through in big moments when her team needed her most. She finished an outstanding senior campaign averaging 19.2 points per game while shooting an incredible 56.2% from the field, 91% from the free throw line, and pulling down 7.1 rebounds per contest.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Junior Macy Spivey delivered another huge performance with 9 points and a dominant 13 rebounds. Her physicality and energy inside helped Rockcastle control the glass throughout the night. Macy has been one of the most consistent players on the roster all season, averaging 16.7 points per game while leading the team in three-point baskets and adding 6.6 rebounds per game.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Junior Sadie Osborne stepped up in a major way on championship night, scoring 13 points and knocking down three big three-pointers. She played fearlessly and provided a huge spark offensively at critical moments in the game. While her season average sat at 3.2 points per game, Sadie made the most of her opportunity and delivered one of her best performances of the year on the biggest stage.</p>

She defended hard, moved the ball well, and played with tremendous effort throughout the championship battle. Tessa has been a key piece for the Lady Rockets all season long, averaging 8.6 points per game while also ranking among the team leaders in rebounds at 4.6 per contest.</p>

<p>Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1117358' first='Bella' last='Stevens'] scored 11 points while grabbing 5 rebounds. She played with toughness and composure all night, consistently attacking the basket and competing on both ends of the floor. Bella averaged 8.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game this season and continues to develop into an important piece for the Lady Maroons.<br></p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Senior Brooklyn Thomas closed out her high school career with another strong performance in the district tournament, finishing with 11 points and a team-high 12 rebounds for a huge double-double. Brooklyn battled inside all game long and gave Pulaski County a steady presence offensively and on the boards. She wrapped up an outstanding senior season averaging 16.8 points and 8 rebounds per game.</p>

<p>Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='884341' first='Caroline' last='Heist'] added 9 points and continued to show why expectations are so high for her future. After stepping into a larger role following Madeline Butcher's injury, Caroline elevated her game during the second half of the season. Her athleticism, ability to create plays, and defensive energy stood out throughout the tournament, and she looks poised for a breakout season next year.</p>
