Class of 2027: Point Guards To Know Outside Top 100

The summer hoops season will be over before you know it, and senior players will then gear up for their final high school season. WIth that being said, here are five 2027 point guards that are unranked or ranked outside the top 100 who have the skillset to move up the Prep Girls Hoops rankings in their final season of high school hoops.    [player_tooltip player_id='1052110' first='Emma' last='Wright'], at the point guard position, is a sharpshooter.   Wright last season for the University School of Jackson had multiple games where she made three or more 3-pointers. This includes a game against Ensworth High School, where she made four 3-pointers. Wright is mainly a catch-and-shoot threat. She does a great job at relocating to get open. Especially from moving in the interior to the arc to find a gap for an open 3-pointer.       [player_tooltip player_id='907626' first='Jayden' last='Kitts'], at 5'10", brings great defensive versatility to any team she is on.   Kitts, in being an above-average height for a typical high school pg, is a great perimeter defender. She covers a ton of space laterally with her size, allowing her to stick with smaller and speedier guards as well. She is also able to then play in the interior and affect shots at a higher level than most people at the PG position in her class.   On offense, Kitts can attack the basket on both sides effectively. One of the best parts of her offensive game is her passing. She works out of pick-and-roll actions extremely well and excels in transition. In both scenarios, she knows when to hit her teammate to give them the best opportunity to score.       [player_tooltip player_id='831251' first='Zoe' last='Gibson'] at 6'0" has the capability to operate as a PG.   Gibson, being a bigger guard, is especially good on the dribble going to her right. From there, she can use her strength to get through defenders for a layup or initiate a post-up. Gibson at 6'0" is more than comfortable in scoring from the post. She even has a short left hook shot she can go to.   Gibson's main accolade she leans on is her sharpshooting. She can knock down 3-pointers from all over, but is especially good at shooting corner 3-pointers. Gibson at the guard position is also a great rebounder.     [player_tooltip player_id='821998' first='Charis' last='Cook'] is having a good summer hoops season.   Cook in a summer tournament, the Buckeye State Blast, showcased good driving skills. She did a great job at driving right and utilizing different moves to score in the interior: hesitation move and hopstep. Cook also hit an impressive reverse layup at the event after getting past a defender.   Cook on offense is also a capable 3-point shooter and can pull up for a mid-range jumper.     [player_tooltip player_id='1836274' first='Lucy' last='Richardson'] had an impressive junior season for White House-Heritage.   One of the main skills that Richardson has that makes her such a good SG is her rebounding ability. Every time she steps on the court, a double-double is a possibility for Richardson.   She is also an above-average block threat at the SG position. In a game against Hendersonville High School last season, she had four blocks. She got a couple of those blocks from great help defense. Richardson rotated off of her defender on the perimeter to a player driving in the paint, caught them off guard, and blocked their shot.
