Class of 2027: Power Forwards Outside Top 100 To Know

The class of 2027 has proven in their three years that they have played high school basketball that they have great talent. That is true for players even outside the Top 100 in the Prep Girls Hoops Rankings. With that being said, here are five either unranked 2027 PFs or ranked outside the top 100 who could have big senior seasons.    [player_tooltip player_id='1241948' first='Elisabeth' last='Byington'] is a PF with way above average lateral speed for her height.   Byington, with the combination of her height and speed, is an outstanding rebounder, with her ability to cut into ideal spots for rebounds constantly. This past season, she had several games where she had double-doubles.   Byington is also a capable 3-point shooter and can operate out of post-ups at a high level. She can hit under-control half-spin moves in post-ups and score off the glass from the right side and middle of the basket efficiently.     [player_tooltip player_id='821978' first='Jaylen' last='Brown'] is a great interior defensive player.   Brown is a constant blocking threat. She does a great job of stepping into open space and using her wingspan without fouling to affect shots. She has had multiple games in her high school career with two or more blocks.   Brown also does a great job of finding an outlet pass after she secures a rebound, steal, or gets the ball after a blocked shot.     [player_tooltip player_id='1244692' first='Sophia' last='Ashley'] has an insanely good interior game.   More often than not, teams did not have an answer for the impact Ashley has in the paint in games. She can rebound over multiple players on the offensive and defensive ends as well as score over them.   Last season, Ashley had multiple double-doubles. This includes a game against Hendersonville Christian Academy. In the game, she had 17 points and 16 rebounds.     [player_tooltip player_id='846622' first='Zamiya' last='Riley'] plays with a high motor on the offensive and defensive ends.   Riley has the capability of shooting 3-pointers but excels on the move. She works well as a cutter. On said cuts, she can use her athleticism to score even with defenders in front of her. Riley, on the move on the dribble, is also a great passer. She can zip passes to the open shooters on the perimeter or teammates that are cutting to the bucket alongside her.   Riley, with the intensity she plays with, is always a steal threat and an offensive rebound threat.     [player_tooltip player_id='908164' first='Abrie' last='Nickels'] had some good moments in her junior season for Grainger High School.   Nickels, as a defender, has great straight-line speed. This allows her to steal or deflect entry passes to players in post-ups on occasion. Nickels also uses this speed to be a good runner in transition.   On offense, Nickels has great mechanics on her jumper. This is seen in her perimeter jumper, which is a weapon she goes to in offense often. With the good mechanics on her jump shot that she showed in her junior season, her perimeter shot could be even more impactful in her senior season.
