Every time I get the opportunity to watch the incoming Bay Port junior she adds a new wrinkle to her game. Last summer it was a more consistent outside touch where that translated to a 31.2% from deep during the varsity season. This summer, her court vision looks to be improved keeping whoever has to guard the 6-1 Thompson, on their toes, due to her unselfishness and pinpoint passing ability. Last season she averaged 11.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists but looks poised to take over the star mantle from the graduated Melia Lemorande.

I have had the opportunity to watch the 5-7 Hortonville junior, a few time this summer, and she has stood out, on each occasion due to her overall, unselfish play, on the offensive end, and her tenacious defense. Pomrening is the type of glue player that Hortonville always seems to have keeping them in the FVA hunt year after year and I expect her to be a major factor as the Polar Bears look to unseat Kimberly this winter.

5-7 Schmidt, coming off of a 20.9 ppg season, with Burlington, has had an impressive summer showing a great ability to not only knock down the three-ball, but also to get to the hoop, at will, and finish in a variety of ways in traffic. Schmidt is a strong, physical player who has been dominating the glass, on both ends of the court and looks poised to blow away her 3.2 rebound per game average from last season.

Elliott, a 6-0 junior is having a great summer and looks even better than last season where she averaged 23.5 ppg and 11.1 rpg in leading the Blue Bombers to a 22-5 record. Showing improved three-level scoring ability, Elliott is having her way, against defenders, whether that is getting to the hoop, at will, or pulling from mid-range. Last season she shot 33.8%, from deep, but looks like she has also improved in that area, knocking down three balls at a high clip.
