JSE Showcase: The Difference Makers In West Monroe

Games change momentum all the time and it is often said that the Basketball is a game of runs. Often times, that run is sparked by a play. It may be a steal, a three pointer or back to back defensive stops that change the momentum of the game. Here are some of the players that made those plays. They did something consistently to effect the game and spark those in game runs.    After watching Barbe it does not take long to figure out their game is built on defensive pressure and intensity. That all starts with Davis. She is tough on ball defender with a consistent offensive game that scores in spots. She is smart with the ball in her hand and only takes needed shots. She uses the floater when she gets in the lane, but can shoot the ball just as easily. Davis drives the Barbe train and sets the tone from start to finish. Keep an eye on her moving forward because her skill set translates easily to the next level.     RIchard is a top player in the state for a reason, and it starts with her full spectrum skill. She is a three-level scorer with the size and aggression to control a game. She is not a greedy player, and she uses her teammates much like a guard. Even though she is listed as a forward, she could easily transition to the guard spot at the next level. She is long, solid and intense with next level athleticism making her a clear target for the next level.     Ware is a skilled player with all of the next level tools that coaches look for. She is an easy 5'10, with an athletes frame. She is calm and confident with the ball, and uses her poise to set up teammates. Ware is excellent at getting down hill and can shoot the three ball. Early in the summer, she is using her skills to set up teammates, but with all she has in her bag, do not be surprised if she steps into a scoring role, making Shreve one of the most dangerous teams in the state.     After watching Brown play once, it was clear that she has a bright basketball future. She is tough as nails with an elite handle. Her ability to control the game, make plays, defend at a high level and score at will were impressive in every game. It will be hard to find a young player with better handles. She is a creative young point guard with tons of upside.      Jones is a part of the class that sparked the rebirth of Iowa basketball. She has obvious collegiate level size and skill. She looks ready for college ball right now. Her poise on the court shows her maturity, and her size allows her to be comfortable playing in the paint or on the perimetere. Her upside is high, and she will surely compete at the next level.
