Davelyn Richard Davelyn Richard 5'10" | SF/PF Barbe | 2027 State LA put together a strong all-around showing at the JSE Team Camp, proving why she is one of Louisiana’s top prospects in the 2027 class. The 5’10” Barbe standout impacted the game in multiple ways, using her versatility, length and aggressive approach to create problems on both ends of the floor.

Richard showed the ability to do a little bit of everything offensively. She attacked the basket hard, got to her spots and finished well around the rim. She also displayed touch in the midrange and proved she can stretch the floor from the perimeter, including a big shooting performance against Airline where she knocked down multiple threes. Her scoring versatility makes her a difficult matchup because she can hurt defenses inside, from the midrange and from beyond the arc.

She also brought a physical presence on the glass. Richard crashed the boards with purpose, battled for rebounds and consistently created extra opportunities for her team. Her motor and willingness to compete inside added another layer to her impact.

Defensively, Richard was just as impressive. She stayed active, used her length well and made life difficult for opposing players. Her activity in passing lanes and ability to cover ground gave opponents very little room to operate, and her presence made it tough for teams to make clean passes or get comfortable offensively.

What stands out most about Richard is her versatility. She has the size to play multiple positions, the aggressiveness to attack, and the skill set to score in different ways. That complete package was on full display at JSE.

RIchard is a top player in the state for a reason, and it starts with her full spectrum skill. She is a three-level scorer with the size and aggression to control a game. She is not a greedy player, and she uses her teammates much like a guard. Even though she is listed as a forward, she could easily transition to the guard spot at the next level. She is long, solid and intense with next level athleticism making her a clear target for the next level.

Pulling down 8.7 rebounds per game, Davelyn is the type of athlete who makes rebounding look effortless. Her bounce allows her to rise above the crowd, but it’s her timing and confidence that truly separate her. Davelyn doesn’t hesitate—when the ball goes up, she’s already loading to explode. She plays with a freedom and joy that shows in her game, turning rebounds into momentum plays that ignite fast breaks and energize her teammates.

With 4.3 steals per game, Davelyn has a natural instinct for finding the ball. She’s effective both on the ball and in the passing lanes, always reading the offense a step ahead. Davelyn seems to have a special feel for when a pass is coming and jumps it without hesitation. Her ability to create turnovers feels effortless and natural.

Richard is a versatile wing who can impact the game at all three levels. She shows excellent footwork and touch in the post, along with the handle and poise to create off the bounce. Richard can also step out and consistently knock down outside jumpers. Defensively, she brings toughness and versatility, able to switch and guard multiple positions. Richard will help lead Barbe to a deep playoff run.

She was dominant in the post, using her size and footwork to score effectively, while also knocking down shots from the midrange. Defensively, Richard was just as impactful, locking in on assignments and making stops. With her ability to score at will and defend, she was a key two-way presence for Team 3.

Davelyn has the rare ability to make long, accurate passes down the court to her teammates. Her ability to make long passes puts defenses in a bind and forces them to stretch out, leaving a lot of open space for Davelyn to facilitate the offense and slow things down.

Davelyn Richard is a wing with a good midrange jumper and the ability to get to the rim at will. She’s also a great on-ball defender and aggressively attacks rebounds.

Richard also crossed the state line to showcase her skills and let me say this, she left a lasting first impression. Let me start with her posting defenders up and dropping the turnaround jumper, but her pull-up and “catch and shoot” from deep were also nice, all of that in the 3 on 3. She’s a long and athletic guard who not only rebounded but handled the ball afterward. She saw the floor, scored off the dribble, finished using solid body control after contact, and did a good job defensively in and outside the paint
