JSE Team Camp: 2028 Prospects Turning HeadsThe Class of 2028 came to the JSE Team Camp in West Monroe ready to be seen—and several prospects left the building with their names carrying much more weight. With college coaches, scouts, evaluators and some of Louisiana's top programs packed inside the gym, the stage was set for the state's rising juniors to make a statement. The 2028 group did not shrink under the spotlight. They competed with confidence, played with purpose and showed that this class is loaded with players capable of making a serious impact at the next level. From the opening tip, the guards set the tone. The class featured quick, athletic ball handlers who controlled the pace, attacked the paint and created offense under pressure. Several showed the ability to score at all three levels, while others separated themselves with court vision, decision-making and defensive intensity. These were not guards simply trying to survive the moment—they were taking control of it.The wings brought versatility and matchup problems all over the floor. They ran the lanes, finished through contact, knocked down perimeter shots and defended multiple positions. Their combination of length, athleticism and skill allowed them to impact games without needing every possession called for them. The frontcourt prospects made just as much noise.Strong post players controlled the glass, finished second-chance opportunities and brought a physical presence around the basket. Others showed the ability to step away from the paint, handle the ball and stretch defenses with their shooting. That type of versatility is exactly what college programs are looking for in today's game. What made the 2028 class stand out was its competitive edge. These prospects played hard on both ends, communicated with teammates and embraced difficult matchups. They were not afraid to defend older players, battle through contact or take important shots with the game on the line. Several players raised their stock because they consistently made winning plays—not just highlight plays. The JSE Team Camp also gave evaluators a closer look at prospects who may have entered the event under the radar. Some arrived with established reputations and strengthened their standing. Others introduced themselves with breakout performances that demanded attention. That is what a major evaluation event is all about.West Monroe became the proving ground, and the 2028 class took full advantage of it.There was scoring, toughness, shot-making, rim protection, leadership and high-level athleticism throughout the event. More importantly, there were players showing they understand how to compete and contribute to winning basketball. The Class of 2028 is no longer a group waiting for its opportunity. The opportunity is here. These prospects are getting stronger, becoming more skilled and showing greater confidence every time they step onto the floor. After the performances at the JSE Team Camp, one thing is clear:Louisiana's 2028 class is deep, talented and officially turning heads.

Did you miss my most recent article?
Tap in using the link below and stay updated on the latest evaluations, rankings, and rising prospects.

Follow me on Instagram or X: @CoachLathan

https://prepgirlshoops.com/2026/06/jse-team-camp-louisianas-next-wave-of-talent/

JSE Showcase: Frontcourt Prospects Who Raised Their Stock

Buckets on Display: Elite Scorers Take Over the JSE Showcase

JSE Team Camp- Top Standout Performers | Prep Girls Hoops

[player_tooltip player_id='1318248' first='Zoey' last='Davis'] | 5'6” Combo Guard | Southwood | 2028

[player_tooltip player_id='1318248' first='Zoey' last='Davis'] delivered a strong all-around performance at the JSE Team Camp, showing why she continues to gain attention in Louisiana's 2028 class. Davis was seemingly everywhere on the floor, constantly communicating, directing traffic and keeping her teammates engaged. Her leadership and activity gave Southwood a steady presence on both ends.

Offensively, Davis played with control and displayed impressive court vision. She recognized openings quickly, created quality opportunities for teammates and knew when to attack for her own offense. She is a versatile combo guard who can handle playmaking responsibilities while also producing as a scorer—a skill set that has helped establish her as one of Southwood's leaders.

What stood out most at JSE was her willingness to handle the details that do not always appear in the box score. Davis communicated defensively, remained active away from the ball and consistently put herself in position to make winning plays. Her energy, awareness and competitive approach helped set the tone for her team.

JSE Camp Takeaway: Davis was more than simply productive—she was an organizer, communicator and difference-maker. Her combination of leadership, playmaking, scoring versatility and defensive activity makes her a guard college programs should continue tracking closely. [player_tooltip player_id='1318248' first='Zoey' last='Davis'] did the little things, made the right plays and showed that winning guards impact every possession.

Carlee Smith | Guard | Fairview | Class of 2028

Carlee Smith put together a strong, complete performance at the JSE Team Camp, showing that her impact goes well beyond scoring. The Fairview guard played with intelligence, intensity and purpose on both ends of the floor, consistently making winning plays for her team.

Defensively, Smith was locked in. She applied aggressive ball pressure, anticipated passing lanes and turned steals into transition opportunities. She competed with toughness, stayed active throughout possessions and showed the awareness to be in the right place at the right time. Her defensive approach helped create momentum and gave Fairview an edge.

Smith was equally effective offensively. She attacked the basket aggressively, finished through traffic and showed that she could make defenses pay from behind the arc. She did not force the action, either. When the defense collapsed, Smith was willing to move the ball and create opportunities for her teammates. Her ability to score at the rim, produce in transition and knock down perimeter shots made her a difficult matchup.

JSE Team Camp Takeaway: Smith was one of the more dependable all-around performers on the floor. She defended with intensity, attacked with confidence and contributed in nearly every phase of the game. Carlee Smith did not simply fill the stat sheet—she made the winning plays that helped drive her team.

Hannah Klitzke | SF | Ouachita Christian | Class of 2028

Hannah Klitzke gave Ouachita Christian a dependable interior presence at the JSE Team Camp, displaying a polished feel for operating around the mid-post. She looked comfortable catching in that area, establishing position and rising into a controlled mid-range jumper. Her ability to score from that spot gives her offense an option when defenses take away the paint or close out hard on perimeter shooters.

Klitzke also made her presence felt on the glass. She pursued rebounds with effort, used her frame to create space and helped her team finish defensive possessions. Offensively, her rebounding ability gives her opportunities to generate second-chance points and keep possessions alive.

JSE Team Camp Takeaway: Klitzke showed a valuable combination of mid-post touch, rebounding and offensive awareness. As she continues strengthening her footwork, finishing and defensive versatility, she has the tools to become a productive two-way forward. Her touch from the middle of the floor and willingness to battle on the boards made her a prospect worth tracking in Louisiana's 2028 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1143964' first='Molli' last='“MJ” Thibodeaux'] | 5'7” Point Guard | Midland | Class of 2028

[player_tooltip player_id='1143964' first='Molli' last='“MJ” Thibodeaux'] made her presence felt throughout the JSE Team Camp with a complete two-way performance for Midland. She played with poise, confidence and a strong understanding of how to control the game from the point guard position.

Thibodeaux showed the ability to create offense at all three levels. She knocked down perimeter shots, found openings in the midrange and attacked the basket with purpose. She played under control, made smart decisions and consistently put herself and her teammates in favorable situations.

Her defensive impact was just as impressive. Thibodeaux applied pressure to opposing ball handlers, anticipated passing lanes and remained active with steals, blocks and deflections. She competed on every possession and turned defensive stops into transition opportunities.

What separated Thibodeaux was her ability to affect the game in multiple ways without forcing the action. She scored when opportunities were available, moved the basketball and provided steady leadership on the floor. Her combination of offensive versatility, defensive intensity and decision-making made her one of the most complete guards on display at the JSE Team Camp.

Thibodeaux continues to show why she is regarded as one of Louisiana's top guard prospects in the 2028 class. She has the toughness, skill and competitive mindset to continue raising her stock.

[player_tooltip player_id='980297' first='Paris' last='Palacio'] | 5'6” PG/SG | Many High School | lass of 2028

[player_tooltip player_id='980297' first='Paris' last='Palacio'] delivered an impressive performance at the JSE Team Camp, showing why she continues to stand out among Louisiana's top guards in the 2028 class. As Many High School's starting point guard, Palacio operated like a true floor general—setting the tempo, organizing the offense and consistently putting her teammates in position to succeed.

Offensively, Palacio played with confidence and aggression. She handled pressure well, created separation off the dribble and showed the ability to score from multiple levels. She can light it up from beyond the arc, pull up comfortably in the midrange or attack the rim with purpose. Her ball-handling, vision and decision-making allowed her to control possessions while still remaining a dangerous scoring option.

What separates Palacio, however, is her commitment on the defensive end. In an era where many guards focus mainly on offense, she takes pride in guarding the basketball and competing on every possession. Palacio applies pressure, plays with a high motor and embraces the challenge of slowing down opposing guards. That defensive mindset, paired with her offensive skill set, makes her a true two-way threat.

Her energy, leadership and competitive approach did not go unnoticed at JSE. Scouts took notice of her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor, and her style of play continues to make her one of the more complete and dependable guards in Louisiana's 2028 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='980297' first='Paris' last='Palacio'] is not just a scorer—she is a leader, a defender and a playmaker who brings winning energy every time she steps on the floor.
