JSE Team Camp: 2028 Prospects Turning HeadsThe Class of 2028 came to the JSE Team Camp in West Monroe ready to be seen—and several prospects left the building with their names carrying much more weight.With college coaches, scouts, evaluators and some of Louisiana's top programs packed inside the gym, the stage was set for the state's rising juniors to make a statement. The 2028 group did not shrink under the spotlight. They competed with confidence, played with purpose and showed that this class is loaded with players capable of making a serious impact at the next level.From the opening tip, the guards set the tone.The class featured quick, athletic ball handlers who controlled the pace, attacked the paint and created offense under pressure. Several showed the ability to score at all three levels, while others separated themselves with court vision, decision-making and defensive intensity. These were not guards simply trying to survive the moment—they were taking control of it.The wings brought versatility and matchup problems all over the floor. They ran the lanes, finished through contact, knocked down perimeter shots and defended multiple positions. Her leadership and activity gave Southwood a steady presence on both ends.   Offensively, Davis played with control and displayed impressive court vision. She recognized openings quickly, created quality opportunities for teammates and knew when to attack for her own offense. She is a versatile combo guard who can handle playmaking responsibilities while also producing as a scorer—a skill set that has helped establish her as one of Southwood's leaders.   What stood out most at JSE was her willingness to handle the details that do not always appear in the box score. Davis communicated defensively, remained active away from the ball and consistently put herself in position to make winning plays. Her energy, awareness and competitive approach helped set the tone for her team.   JSE Camp Takeaway: Davis was more than simply productive—she was an organizer, communicator and difference-maker. Her combination of leadership, playmaking, scoring versatility and defensive activity makes her a guard college programs should continue tracking closely. [player_tooltip player_id='1318248' first='Zoey' last='Davis'] did the little things, made the right plays and showed that winning guards impact every possession.     <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Carlee Smith | Guard | Fairview | Class of 2028</h3>   Carlee Smith put together a strong, complete performance at the JSE Team Camp, showing that her impact goes well beyond scoring. The Fairview guard played with intelligence, intensity and purpose on both ends of the floor, consistently making winning plays for her team.   Defensively, Smith was locked in. She applied aggressive ball pressure, anticipated passing lanes and turned steals into transition opportunities. She competed with toughness, stayed active throughout possessions and showed the awareness to be in the right place at the right time. Her defensive approach helped create momentum and gave Fairview an edge.   Smith was equally effective offensively. She attacked the basket aggressively, finished through traffic and showed that she could make defenses pay from behind the arc. She did not force the action, either. When the defense collapsed, Smith was willing to move the ball and create opportunities for her teammates. Her ability to score at the rim, produce in transition and knock down perimeter shots made her a difficult matchup.   JSE Team Camp Takeaway: Smith was one of the more dependable all-around performers on the floor. She defended with intensity, attacked with confidence and contributed in nearly every phase of the game. She looked comfortable catching in that area, establishing position and rising into a controlled mid-range jumper. Her ability to score from that spot gives her offense an option when defenses take away the paint or close out hard on perimeter shooters.   Klitzke also made her presence felt on the glass. She pursued rebounds with effort, used her frame to create space and helped her team finish defensive possessions. Offensively, her rebounding ability gives her opportunities to generate second-chance points and keep possessions alive.   JSE Team Camp Takeaway: Klitzke showed a valuable combination of mid-post touch, rebounding and offensive awareness. As she continues strengthening her footwork, finishing and defensive versatility, she has the tools to become a productive two-way forward. She played under control, made smart decisions and consistently put herself and her teammates in favorable situations.   Her defensive impact was just as impressive. Thibodeaux applied pressure to opposing ball handlers, anticipated passing lanes and remained active with steals, blocks and deflections. She competed on every possession and turned defensive stops into transition opportunities.   What separated Thibodeaux was her ability to affect the game in multiple ways without forcing the action. She scored when opportunities were available, moved the basketball and provided steady leadership on the floor. Her combination of offensive versatility, defensive intensity and decision-making made her one of the most complete guards on display at the JSE Team Camp.
