The Class of 2028 made a major statement at LSU Team Camp. With a talented group of guards, wings, forwards, and post players competing throughout the event, several prospects showed why this class is quickly becoming one of the most exciting groups to follow in Louisiana.

What stood out most was the maturity of their games. These prospects did not simply rely on athleticism. They showed patience, court awareness, shot-making ability, defensive toughness, and a strong understanding of how to impact winning. Many played with confidence beyond their years and looked comfortable competing in a fast, physical environment.

The guards controlled the pace, created separation, knocked down shots, and consistently found open teammates. The wings brought versatility, attacking from multiple spots on the floor while also defending several positions. Inside, the forwards and post players provided physicality, rebounding, rim protection, and a strong presence around the basket.

Several players also increased their stock with their performances. Some arrived as established names and strengthened their reputations, while others used the stage to introduce themselves as prospects who deserve more attention. Their willingness to compete, accept difficult matchups, and make plays under pressure helped separate them from the crowd.

The Class of 2028 still has plenty of time to grow, but the foundation is already impressive. With continued development, this group has the potential to produce high-level college prospects and impact players for years to come.

Here is a closer look at the Class of 2028 prospects who stood out and made their presence felt at LSU Team Camp.

Did you miss my most recent article?
Tap in using the link below and stay updated on the latest evaluations, rankings, and rising prospects.

Follow me on Instagram or X: @CoachLathan

LSU Team Camp: 2029 and 2030 Rising Stars | Prep Girls Hoops

LSU Team Camp: Top Prospects | Prep Girls Hoops

LSUE Team Camp: Prospects That Turned Heads | Prep Girls Hoops

[player_tooltip player_id='1804514' first='Ariannah' last='Smith'] made sure her presence was felt at LSU Team Camp. The long, athletic Class of 2028 guard played with confidence, attacked the floor with purpose, and showed the kind of upside that immediately grabs attention.

Smith used her length and explosiveness to get downhill, rise over defenders, and finish around the basket. She was not afraid of contact and consistently put pressure on the defense with aggressive drives. When defenders backed off, she showed confidence in her pull-up jumper and gave flashes of a developing scoring package that could become dangerous.

What separated Smith was her ability to impact more than one area of the game. She rebounded above her position, competed against bigger players, and used her athleticism to create extra possessions. Defensively, her length allowed her to bother ball handlers, challenge shots, and cover ground quickly.

Smith played with energy, toughness, and a fearless mindset throughout the event. She looked comfortable on the big stage and showed that she has the tools to become a serious two-way problem as her skill set continues to grow.

LSU Team Camp was another strong step forward for Smith. With her athleticism, length, scoring potential, and competitive edge, she is a stock-rising prospect in Louisiana's 2028 class who deserves plenty of attention.

[player_tooltip player_id='1867659' first='Zoey' last='Jackson'] brought major energy and confidence to the floor and showed exactly why she is a name to know in Louisiana's 2028 class. The Archbishop Hannan guard plays with a college-ready frame, strong presence, and the kind of poise that immediately stands out.

Jackson is at her best when attacking downhill. She uses a tough stutter step to freeze defenders, explodes into the lane, and finishes with confidence around the rim. She plays with purpose, keeps defenders off balance, and consistently puts pressure on the defense.

What makes Jackson even more dangerous is her feel for the game. She sees plays develop early, delivers smart passes, and rarely looks rattled. Her court vision and basketball IQ allow her to control possessions, create for teammates, and make winning decisions.

Jackson does not play timid. She competes with confidence, embraces physicality, and carries herself like a player who expects to make an impact. Her combination of size, strength, skill, and decision-making gives her the tools to become a serious two-way threat.

[player_tooltip player_id='1867659' first='Zoey' last='Jackson'] is not just another young guard with potential. She is a rising prospect with the confidence, toughness, and ability to become one of the top names in the Class of 2028.

[player_tooltip player_id='874573' first='Jailee' last='Edwards'] showed at LSU Team Camp why she is one of the more exciting point guards in Louisiana's 2028 class. The 5-foot-4 floor general played with confidence, speed, and creativity, consistently putting pressure on the defense with her ability to get into the paint.

Edwards used her quick first step, tight handle, and change of pace to break defenders down off the bounce. She attacked gaps, created scoring opportunities around the rim, and kept defenders off balance with her hesitation moves and crafty footwork.

What stood out most was her ability to create for others. Edwards drew help defenders, kept her head up, and delivered sharp passes to open teammates in the half court. She showed patience when running the offense and did not allow the speed of the game to rush her decisions.

At LSU Team Camp, Edwards looked comfortable on the big stage. She competed with energy, controlled possessions, and showed that she can impact the game as both a scorer and facilitator. Her quickness, court vision, toughness, and playmaking ability make her a rising guard to watch closely in the Class of 2028.

[player_tooltip player_id='892118' first='Paityn' last='Dean'] came to LSU Team Camp ready to make a statement—and she did exactly that. The 5-foot-8 Class of 2028 shooting guard looked polished, confident, and completely comfortable playing on a major stage.

Dean showed why she is one of the most dangerous offensive players in Louisiana's 2028 class. She scored from all three levels, knocked down perimeter shots with confidence, created separation off the dribble, and attacked the rim with strength and control. Her smooth handle allowed her to get wherever she wanted on the floor, while her size and balance made her difficult to contain once she got downhill.

What separated Dean was her ability to stay composed and make the right read. She did not force shots or play rushed. When defenders collapsed, she found open teammates and delivered sharp passes. When they gave her space, she made them pay. Her combination of scoring ability, court vision, and decision-making kept the defense guessing every possession.

Defensively, Dean competed with the same intensity. She used her length to pressure the ball, jumped passing lanes, and remained active throughout each possession. Her motor, confidence, and two-way effort made her presence impossible to ignore.

Dean did not just perform well at LSU Team Camp—she looked like one of the most complete guards in the gym. With her size, handle, shot-making, vision, and fearless approach, [player_tooltip player_id='892118' first='Paityn' last='Dean'] proved that she is a high-level prospect with the tools to keep climbing.

[player_tooltip player_id='969817' first='Kristyna' last='Lambert'] made a strong impression at LSU Team Camp and showed why her name continues to rise in Louisiana's 2028 class. The big, physical combo guard already possesses a college-ready body type and plays with the confidence of someone who expects to make an impact every time she steps on the floor.

Lambert handles the ball extremely well for her size and uses that skill to create offense from multiple spots. She can attack off the bounce, get into the paint, create her own shot, and make plays for teammates. Her combination of strength, size, and ball control makes her a difficult matchup for smaller guards and slower defenders.

She also plays with toughness on both sides of the court. Offensively, Lambert uses her physicality to absorb contact and finish through traffic. Defensively, she competes with a strong motor, uses her body well, and is willing to take on difficult assignments.

What stood out most at LSU Team Camp was her confidence and versatility. Lambert looked comfortable handling pressure, creating opportunities, and playing through contact. With her college-ready frame, advanced ball-handling, physical style, and two-way impact, she has the tools to become one of the more complete guards in Louisiana's Class of 2028.

The Class of 2028 made a major statement at LSU Team Camp. With a talented group of guards, wings, forwards, and post players competing throughout the event, several prospects showed why this class is quickly becoming one of the most exciting groups to follow in Louisiana.
