PGH College Tour IV: Standout Forwards Pt 2

Saginaw Valley State was the final stop along the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan College Tour. Talent fit for every level of college basketball flooded the beautiful gym. The facility was perfect for the occasion. Teams had the opportunity to compete in front of 13 different college programs (D2, D3, NAIA, JUCO), PGH scouts, and Midwest Recruiting Resource. She was very physical and active on the offensive glass. Amberley scored putbacks with strength and gave Toronto Select 17U an advantage inside at the PGH Michigan College Tour IV.     Lydia is a wing-forward who can stretch the floor and go toe-to-toe with bigs inside. She had a fantastic day for [program_tooltip program_id='1239258' first='HB' last='Elite'] 17U at the PGH Michigan College Tour IV. Lydia shot the ball confidently from beyond the arc and drained a deep straightaway three. She attacked off the dribble, crossed over to her left, and finished at the rim. Lydia worked hard to secure offensive rebounds and finished well off two feet in traffic. She drove downhill with determination, went into the body of a long defender, and converted the difficult, contested layup with her left.     Sadie delivered a strong performance at BCAM, and she impressed again for Mystics 16U at the PGH Michigan College Tour IV. She was a force on the offensive glass. Sadie scored a strong and-one putback, then added another and-one putback with her left. She completed the three-point play at the line. Sadie dished out a quick pass to a cutter for an assist and earned a trip to the line after cutting to the basket. She has good balance and sank both shots from the charity stripe. Sadie used her outside hand to steal the ball away at half, pushed the other way with pace, and scored a tough, contested bucket at the rim. She's strong, skilled, mobile, and a versatile forward prospect.     Mallory has been a stock riser on the PGH Circuit, and she had another productive day for [program_tooltip program_id='1249476' first='Lakeside' last='Basketball Academy'] 17U at the PGH Michigan College Tour IV. Her defensive presence was crucial to the team's success throughout the day. Mallory anticipated drives, rotated from the help side, and swatted shots with authority. One of her highlight plays came when she volleyball spiked a layup attempt off the shooter to take away the points and the possession. Mallory jumped up to secure rebounds at their highest point, disrupted shots, and defended rollers very well, using her length to close passing windows. She made a clutch play late to help put the game on ice by battling down a pass in the backcourt for a steal. Mallory moves well for her height and is going to be a heavily recruited post in this class.     Taryn was dominant in the post at BCAM, and she continued to impose her will inside during the PGH Michigan College Tour IV. Taryn has great hands and footwork around the basket. She uses her shoulder to create a scoring angle and finishes well through contact. Taryn got to the front of the rim, held her ground, used effective drop steps, and finished efficiently off two feet. She cleans up the offensive glass and demands full attention from the defense, which creates a lot of open looks for teammates. Taryn is the safety blanket every guard wants to have on their team.     Elli made a comprehensive impact for [program_tooltip program_id='1249476' first='Lakeside' last='Basketball Academy'] 17U throughout the day at the PGH Michigan College Tour IV. She protected the basket as a shot blocker, picked off passes from the help side, caused deflections, and worked hard to secure offensive rebounds. Elli scooped up the ball after deflecting a pass and took it straight to the basket for two points. She scored putbacks in traffic and is a versatile prospect on the rise.     Kaylyn immediately caught my attention with her strong frame and towering height. She's going to be an instant force in the frontcourt as a freshman. Kaylyn gave [program_tooltip program_id='1831436' first='MBA' last='[program_tooltip program_id='952340' first='The' last='House']'] 14U a significant advantage in the paint. She already has great hands for her age and a good finishing touch around the basket. Kaylyn scored a strong catch and finish through contact and made smooth transfers to score off basket cuts. She converted shots around the rim from difficult angles without the backboard and worked hard to secure offensive rebounds. Kaylyn blocked shots and kept her hands up to force misses without fouling. She's a prospect we'd like to see again at the Freshman Showcase.
