As the class of 2027 enters the busiest stretch of the offseason, it may be their most important one yet. It is many players' last chance to prove themselves and establish themselves as some of the best players in Tennessee. Here are five PFs in the class of 2027 who have a chance to climb the Prep Girls Hoops ranks now and in their final school season.

The first thing that stands out about [player_tooltip player_id='821777' first='Emily' last='Patterson'] as a player is her effort.

Patterson is constantly looking for a gap that she can jump a passing lane for a steal, and if her assignment on defense gets the ball, she does everything she can to not allow them to score. She does a great job of reading their movement and adjusting her defensive stance to prevent a bucket. Her effort alone and detailed defensive approach helps her generate a surplus of steals and blocks in some games. In the 2025-2026 season, she had multiple games with two or more blocks or steals.

The rising senior out of Lebanon High School, [player_tooltip player_id='821714' first='Maggie' last='Kate Kelley'], is one of the most composed PFs in her class.

In the world of high school basketball their are things called practice players. These are hoopers who hold some of the best talent on their team out of the spotlight, but once they get thrown into a live game, they turn into a different player. Whatever the direct opposite of that is, describes Kelley's game. At times, she makes these live games she is in look like a relaxed shoot-around.

Kelley on the perimeter does not get phased by any physical defense. She analyzes the situation and finds a way to get to one of her scoring spots. She has many of them with her three-leveling scoring skillset. Kelley is also a crafty scorer in the post. She can score off fadeaways and inside spins, making it all look easy.

Kelley is also a good defender who can play as the anchor on defense with her shot-blocking prowess.

[player_tooltip player_id='822283' first='Briley' last='Caldwell'] has a great perimeter-oriented game.

The bulk of Caldwell's offensive production comes from behind the arc nd for good reason. She is an elite-level sharpshooter. She does a great job at finding open space on the perimeter. One of the ways she does this effectively is by passing and relocating.

With Caldwell's outside game, she is more than comfortable playing on the interior. She can score through contact and is a solid attacker from the perimeter to the paint. She also has good enough touch to score off floaters and hook shots in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='1133799' first='Ashlyn' last='Birk'] has a good interior scoring game and is a high-level rebounder.

Birk on offense in post-up does a good job at using her strength to back down a defender and get an ideal angle for a close shot. Birk is especially good at doing this, going to her right. Also, at 6'0", Birk holds a trait that is not typical at her height and at the PF position. She is more comfortable dribbling the ball up the court.

In regard to Birk's rebounding ability, she does a great job at cutting in front of the opponent and rebounding the ball near the highest available point she can secure it. This past school season for Ravenwood, she had multiple games where she had double-doubles. This includes a game against Hickman County High School, where she had 13 points and 11 rebounds.

At 5'8" [player_tooltip player_id='822330' first='Jasmine' last='Jones'], although slightly undersized for the PF position, overcomes this with her skill and effort as a player.

One of the main things Jones provides is her steal ability. In the 2025-2026 season for Tennessee High School, she had a handful of games with three or more steals. She is able to generate these turnovers with her speed and IQ. In a game against University School this past school season, Jones had five steals.

On offense, Jones can stretch the floor with a capable 3-point jumper. She can also score well with an above-average inside game at the left block.
