In the world of high school basketball their are things called practice players. These are hoopers who hold some of the best talent on their team out of the spotlight, but once they get thrown into a live game, they turn into a different player. Whatever the direct opposite of that is, describes Kelley’s game. At times, she makes these live games she is in look like a relaxed shoot-around.
Kelley on the perimeter does not get phased by any physical defense. She analyzes the situation and finds a way to get to one of her scoring spots. She has many of them with her three-leveling scoring skillset. Kelley is also a crafty scorer in the post. She can score off fadeaways and inside spins, making it all look easy.
Kelley is also a good defender who can play as the anchor on defense with her shot-blocking prowess.

She’s a shot maker who finds the bottom of the net consistently. No matter if it’s inside or out, the ball is going through the net. Can play faced up or with her back to the basket, and she makes tough shots look easy. Playing with a ball of energy, she is going to do all things to give her club an edge. Blessed with great size, she takes advantage of mismatches. A talented kid who is poised to have a dominating year.

An absolute dawg that is strong. She is an enforcer who rebounds the ball really well on both ends. She owns the painted area and makes it difficult for opponents to establish real estate down low. She is a strong defender, which is something she prides herself on. Offensively, she cleans up messes. Gets after it on the offensive class and has a nice mid-range game to go along with her ability to create second-chance opportunities. This kid is talented and really kicks it up another notch when it becomes game time.

Maggie is a force to be reckoned with in the paint! Offensively, she does a great job setting the hard screens. She does a great job sealing defenders. If she has you sealed, she is scoring! She finishes strong around the rim. Kelley remains one of the best interior defenders in the state. She’s a great rim protector. She does a good job rebounding on both ends of the court. This is a ’27 that should be on every radar!

Strong individual who plays with a lot of force. She was big inside the arc, dazzling in the painted areas. Maggie exercises her strength to get to favorable areas of hers. She has a knack for being at the right spot at the right time. Offensive boards were big on this day, but she also was big on the boards defensively. She is a grinder who plays and gets after it. Love her motor and her intensity, she is someone who is definitely a force for sure. Solid prospect who keeps getting better and better every time she steps onto the floor.

High level athlete with a high level motor. Vs Bearden I watched her produce countless extra possessions with how hard she crashed the offensive glass. And, where as many kids will grab and offensive board and force up a quick contested shot, she knew when to kick for inside-out threes. Offensively, she’s continuing to improve: Coach Barrett had her at the FT line, and she showed flashes of high level passing and the ability to face up and attack the rim. High IQ kid that understands her role on this particular team, and starred in that role at BCAT.
As I continued to watch more and more of the game, she continued to flash incredible vision in Lebanon’s offense.

One of my favorite kids in the ’27 class because she legit enjoys defending at a high level. She’s following up a great spring with a nice start to summer ball by, as Coach Barrett put it, “dominating the paint at various times in every game.” She’s always been an extremely high level shot blocker and rebounder, with nice touch from mid range. But, she’s added strength and is really turning into an efficient post scorer.

As a freshman, Kelley led them in field goal percentage, rebounds, and blocks. Returning for her sophomore season, you’ll see her be even more dominant on the defensive end, but you’ll also see her flash her offensive game. She’s got great touch in the mid-range and is a really nice finisher.

Maggie Kelley is going to be a stud down the road. She’s part of a very good young core at Lebanon, and she played her role perfectly. In limited minutes she averaged 6 points on 52% from the field! Her rebounding potential is off the charts (6 per game) as her knack for grabbing rebounds at their highest point is fantastic.

Maggie Kelley is the glue to any team she plays on … she bring high energy and her ability to control the paint really stands out. She really came alive the second two days with her rebounding, steals, diving on the floor for lose balls, her ability to outlet pass and see the floor leads to multiple fast breaks!
