Who Dis? 2029 Edition from Saturday Play

Saturday gave us a chance to see a mix of familiar names and brand-new faces, and, as always, some players made sure they wouldn't go unnoticed. One of the best parts of these events is finding talent that wasn't previously on our radar and watching players earn their way onto our scouting lists with their play.   Whether it was a standout performance, a unique skill set, or simply making winning plays possession after possession, these athletes caught our attention. They gave us plenty of reasons to keep watching. Here's a look at the players we added to our scouting rosters and what it was that made them stand out.    This girl is fun to watch. She moves with the fluidity of a guard but uses the length and presence of a post to impact the game in ways opponents don't always expect. She has the mobility to defend in space while still being able to step in and stop downhill attacks at the rim.   Whether it's coming up with a block, pulling down a rebound in traffic, or disrupting a possession with her reach, she consistently makes her presence felt. Opponents often underestimate her height, wingspan, and ability to elevate and go get the basketball, but she has a knack for proving them wrong. Her combination of length, athleticism, and versatility makes her a difficult matchup and a valuable piece on both ends of the floor.     Lilly is fluid with the basketball in her hands. She has the ball on a string and rarely picks up her dribble without already knowing what she wants to do next. That level of composure and foresight allows her to stay in control even when defenses start turning up the pressure.   What stood out most was her poise under heavy defensive pressure. Even when trapped or forced into difficult situations, she consistently found an outlet and made the right play to maintain possession for her team. Her combination of ball handling, patience, and decision-making makes her a calming presence in the backcourt and a player teammates can trust with the ball in critical moments.     Avery's fearlessness when attacking bigger and stronger defenders is impressive. She doesn't shy away from contact and competes with confidence regardless of who is standing in front of her. That toughness allows her to get downhill and challenge defenders in the paint without hesitation.   What makes her even more difficult to guard is that she isn't solely a driver. Avery can step out and knock down the perimeter shot, forcing defenses to respect her range and stay honest on closeouts. That ability to score both at the rim and from deep makes her a versatile offensive threat and a tough matchup for opposing defenses.     London has a lot of growing and development ahead of her, but the foundation is clearly there. She already possesses length, hustle, and some of those intangible qualities that simply can't be taught and make coaches excited about a player's future.   She sees the floor well, understands where she needs to be, and has a feel for the game that stands out for her age. As she continues to grow into her frame and her hands catch up to her size and length, she's going to become an even more valuable piece on the floor. The tools are there, and with continued reps and confidence, her upside is significant.     Quincy is a go-getter and brings energy to every possession. Her strength stood out throughout the game, particularly in her ability to rip the ball away and come up with possessions that looked destined for the other team. She competes with an edge and isn't afraid to battle for every loose ball and rebound.   Offensively, she does an excellent job of establishing deep position early and sealing defenders effectively, giving herself quality opportunities around the basket. Her physicality, toughness, and relentless effort make her the kind of player who impacts winning in ways that don't always show up in the box score.
