2027 Update Ranked and Watch List Climbs Past 260 [FREE]
The latest round of class rankings updates was released today. The combined number of prospects included in the rankings and watch list shot past 260. Attrition shrank the number of returners, preventing a break through 270. Numerous new adds and watch-listed talents moved into the ranks while even more expanded the watch list to nearly three dozen. Additionally, one player joined the rankings after having been accidentally ranked with the 2028 class. Some players have been dropped from the rankings and watch list due to leaving the sport. As always, injured players are never removed. Substantial changes only occur based upon game play upon return to action. Some slight movement within the top 20 has occurred since the last update but the prospects in that group remain the same.
Much goes into creating and updating rankings. The number of voices and information sources informing them is substantial. Input from many sources, including PGH scouts, inform them. To learn more about what goes into it please look at the How We Rank page to learn about ranking philosophy across all Prep Network sites. Below are also my informative articles, available to subscribers, that go into the details of player evaluation and, ultimately, ranking. The key takeaway is our focus being more on potential to play at the next level than how strong a player is now.
