Earlier in the week we began our coverage of the Prep Girls Hoops Class of 2029 rankings update. We started with the biggest stock risers we've watched over the past few months, and now we're looking at the latest additions in the sophomore class. We've already covered the first two installments, so today we'll look at the final seven prospects in our July update. Here is part 3 of the Class of 2029 newcomers.

Birdman has been on our radar for multiple years now, first impressing us back in the 7th grade. Standing at 5'8, the [program_tooltip program_id='714566' first='Minnesota' last='Stars'] guard is strong, solidly built, and plays with physicality. On the defensive end Mackenzie shines as a rebounder. She positions herself well, boxes out hard, and consistently outworks her opponents for boards. As a scorer, the Edina sophomore attacks the basket hard, taking advantage of gaps in the defense and getting downhill where she consistently finishes through contact. Also a strong passer, Birdman joins the rankings at #89 in the class.

Also a standout performer for the [program_tooltip program_id='714566' first='Minnesota' last='Stars'], Walton is well known for her ability to put the ball in the basket. The 5'8 guard handles the ball with confidence, aggressively attacks the rim, and is a proficient shooter from three-point range. On the other end of the floor, Allie keeps her head on a swivel, seeing the floor well and allowing her to anticipate her opponents' next move. She puts pressure on the perimeter, generates deflections, and forces live-ball turnovers, turning defense into offense. The Chaska sophomore makes her rankings debut at #90 in the class.

Already a high-level varsity performer for the past couple of seasons, Flann has been tearing it up for the [program_tooltip program_id='712699' first='Minnesota' last='Rise'] this summer. A member of the 2029 Schultz team, the 5'5 guard knows how to score in bunches. Ema is highly confident with the ball in her hands and uses her explosive quickness to barrel towards the rim, where she often finishes through contact or is able to draw a foul and get to the line. On the other end of the floor, the BOLD sophomore approaches defense with a gritty, physical, and highly competitive style of play. She comes in at #91.

A standout performer for Glencoe-Silver Lake this past winter, Guerrero is a crafty guard with a high-revving motor. Standing at 5'5, Finley is usually one of the smaller players on the court, but she consistently makes an impact using her speed and intensity on both ends of the floor. On offense the [program_tooltip program_id='712699' first='Minnesota' last='Rise'] guard likes to get downhill, attacking the rim with a burst of speed. Guerrero finishes well on both sides of the basket, and is a confident shooter from beyond the three-point line. Already a high level varsity contributor, Finley joins the rankings at #92.

A breakout performer for the [program_tooltip program_id='712699' first='Minnesota' last='Rise'] this summer, Steele first caught our attention at the AAU State Prelims back in May. The 5'8 guard plays with a quick, high-intensity style, and uses her strength and overall athleticism to create advantages for her team. Peyton is aggressive on the defensive end; she pressures the opposing team's ball handlers and is the first to dive on the floor for a loose ball. When looking to score, the Byron sophomore can knock down shots from the perimeter, but excels on slashes to the rim and drives from the outside. Steele enters the conversation at #93.

Corey broke into the varsity rotation at Zumbrota-Mazeppa over the winter, averaging 4.6 points per game as a 9th grader. Now this summer the 5'7 guard is making an impact for [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] SE. Dynamic and light on her feet, Anneliese uses her speed and lateral movement to shut down her opponents on defense. She sees the floor well, anticipates where the ball is going, and reacts quickly. On offense, Corey is explosive off the bounce, blowing by the first line of defense in one step. Once at the rim, she maintains her balance and finishes well through contact. Corey comes in at #94.

A recent addition to the conversation, Ludwig (pictured above) burst into our field of view last month at the Suns Summer Xplosion. It quickly became clear that the St. Louis Park sophomore is a hidden gem in the Class of 2029. Long and lanky, the 5'9 guard is smooth on both ends of the floor. Ella makes smart decisions with the ball, plays hard on both ends of the court, and shoots with an efficient release that allows her to get shots off with little time or space. Already the leading scorer for the Orioles, it's evident that Ludwig has loads of potential. She enters the rankings at #95.
