Class 1A Region 1 Offseason Radar Watch

She should be an even greater scoring threat in the 2026-2027 season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Whitaker's number one weapon in her offensive game is her perimeter shooting. The main skill of her long-range shooting is just how far she can make shots from. Whitaker looks just as confident on a corner three as she is when she lets one fly from several feet off the wing.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In a game against Hampton High School this past season, she made four 3-pointers. She does a great job at this, and when a turnover by the opposing team takes place, because of her defensive assignment, she is often the player who leads the charges in fast breaks. In these situations, she does a great job at assessing how to attack the basket. One game where this was highlighted was against Fluton High School, where she had four fast-break buckets. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>She was cut off by a defender on one transition opportunity and pulled up and made a midrange jumper. In multiple games, she had two or more makes from distance, and in multiple games she had two or more steals. As a perimeter shooter, she is good at moving off the ball. She has some quick-twitch movements that can get her free, and her ability to be locked in and capitalize on moments when she is left open is notable.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Proffitt, as a listed SG, can also operate as a PG at times. When she gets the ball down low, it often spells trouble for the opposing defense. That is especially true if she gets the ball on the right block. From there, she often utilizes a strong power dribble to create space for a shot. If she does not succeed on her first shot attempt, Southerland is always ready to fight for an offensive board and go up for a lay-up again with her relentless playstyle.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In a game this past season, her offensive playstyle equated to an extremely great game against West Greene High School. In the contest, she had 23 points and 10 rebounds. She had multiple games with five or more assists. She also had multiple games with 10 or more rebounds. One of the main traits that makes Campbell a great rebounder is her hustle. In her double-digit rebound outings, she sometimes ended up with more offensive rebounds than defensive rebounds in those contests.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There will be more opportunity offensively for Campbell to have a bigger role in her junior season. Her game has the potential to excel in that, with her being able to score at all three levels on the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
