Eye Catching Performances: Sparkle City Slam Day 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'm here in Spartanburg, SC for the Prep Girls Hoops Sparkle City Slam event.  Teams from the southeast have traveled here to catch some more competition in July.  There's been a lot of young talent that have been playing exceptionally well.  Here are some of the eye catching top performances that I saw on day 1.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block well pushing the tempo and making the smart dish to her teammates under the basket.  She hustled back on defense showing her athleticism blocking a shot in transition.  She did well flashing to the basket battling for rebounds even making an old fashioned three point play off an offensive rebound.  She made three from beyond the arc, too, showing her ability to score on all levels.</p> <!-- aggressive attacking the basket using her long strides to get to the rim, and she battled against any kind of contact for her points.  She was constantly getting her hands on the ball knocking down shots from all over the court, and she knew how to explode to the rim losing her defenders.  She got her hands in the way on defense, especially being exceptional in transition.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph her open teammates as they flashed to the basket making the right adjustments to make the dish.  She does well attacking the basket herself battling through contact to come away with some points, and she gets inside to grab rebounds making sure her team comes away with the ball.  She's explosive getting up the court making sure her team has a chance for points.  She had a nice move splitting defenders and getting to the basket.  She battles against anyone inside for the rebound.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block bounce where she was able to stop suddenly losing her defenders and put up her shot.  She was constantly moving on the court finding the opening and pushing the tempo, and she showed off her court vision getting her teammates involved.  Her ability to hustle on the other end was an asset getting in the way of her opponents.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- well finding the open space and showing off her range shooting the ball.  She did well attacking the basket, too, not backing down from contact at the rim.  Her finesse with the ball was definitely fun to watch pushing the tempo and weaving in and out of her opponents to get to the opening to put up her shots all over the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
