Guards I'd Love to See at the Freshman Showcase

The Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Freshman Showcase returns to MSA Fieldhouse on Saturday, August 22, giving members of the Class of 2030 an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of the Prep Girls Hoops staff. Below are some of the guards I'd love to see compete at this year's Freshman Showcase.    Autumn is one of the guards I'd love to see at the PGH Freshman Showcase. She earned First Team All-Showcase honors at the Headliners event last fall, and I think she has the talent to put together another standout performance at MSA Fieldhouse. She impacts the game in a variety of ways with her athleticism, ability to create off the dribble, and polished finishing around the basket. Autumn can score at all three levels, rebounds well for a guard, and consistently makes hustle plays that lead to extra possessions. Defensively, she stays active with quick hands and has a knack for forcing turnovers. She has already earned a spot on the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan 2030 Watch List, and the Freshman Showcase would be another great opportunity to evaluate her against other talented players in the class.     Addison is another guard I'd love to see at the Prep Girls Hoops Freshman Showcase. I've had the opportunity to watch her several times this spring and summer with the Mystics, as well as at the Davenport Elite Camp, and she has continued to impress every time I've seen her. She first caught my attention at the Headliners Invitational last fall, where she earned All-Showcase Third Team honors, and her game has continued to develop since then. Addison is a confident perimeter shooter who can stretch the floor, but she's equally effective attacking the basket and making smart decisions with the ball in her hands. She consistently competes with poise, has a high basketball IQ, and never looks rattled regardless of the competition. With her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor, I'd love to see how she performs against the talented group expected at the Freshman Showcase.     Daly is a guard I'd really like the opportunity to see in person at the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Freshman Showcase. While I haven't had the chance to evaluate her myself yet, Evan came away impressed after watching her at the Big North Shootout. She appears to be a well-rounded lead guard who can impact the game in a variety of ways. Daly can get downhill and finish, knock down perimeter shots, create opportunities for her teammates, and make life difficult for opposing guards with her defensive intensity. She also has the strength and versatility to score in different ways, making her an intriguing prospect in the 2030 class. The Freshman Showcase would be a great opportunity for me to get my own evaluation and see how her game stacks up against another talented group of incoming freshmen.     Sydelle is another guard I'd love to see at the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Freshman Showcase. She has the tools to be a very intriguing prospect in the 2030 class with a well-rounded offensive game and the ability to make an impact on both ends of the floor. Her ball handling allows her to create scoring opportunities, and she has shown the ability to knock down the pull-up jumper while also scoring in a variety of other ways. Just as importantly, she plays under control, makes good decisions with the basketball, and contributes in areas that help her team win. I'd welcome the opportunity to evaluate her in person and see how her skill set translates against a talented group of freshmen at MSA Fieldhouse.     Uriyah is a guard I'd absolutely love to see at the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Freshman Showcase. She earned First Team All-Showcase honors at the Headliners Showcase last fall, and I believe she has the talent to put together another performance worthy of that recognition at MSA Fieldhouse. Uriyah is a dynamic playmaker who can score from all three levels, create off the dribble, and finish with impressive body control around the basket. Her athleticism, shiftiness, and ability to make plays for both herself and her teammates make her one of the more exciting guards in the 2030 class. She also competes on the defensive end and impacts the game in a variety of ways. I'd welcome the opportunity to evaluate her again against another talented group of freshmen and see her continue to showcase the complete skill set that makes her such an intriguing prospect.
