Menominee lost in the Regionals last year against State Semifinalist Roscommon, finishing with a stout record of 18-7. They are a leading contender coming out of the UP to make a deep playoff push, and I’m picking them to win the Great Northern UP Conference. Their young and talented squad is adding a legit court general to the backcourt. Daly works hard to apply ball pressure on the perimeter, defends with her feet in an athletic stance, is aggressive, attacks with a burst off the dribble, impacts games as a facilitator, adds a three-point threat to the lineup, and has good ball-handling control. She’s a point guard with the potential to be All-League in year one.

Daly is a guard I’d really like the opportunity to see in person at the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Freshman Showcase. While I haven’t had the chance to evaluate her myself yet, Evan came away impressed after watching her at the Big North Shootout. She appears to be a well-rounded lead guard who can impact the game in a variety of ways. Daly can get downhill and finish, knock down perimeter shots, create opportunities for her teammates, and make life difficult for opposing guards with her defensive intensity. She also has the strength and versatility to score in different ways, making her an intriguing prospect in the 2030 class. The Freshman Showcase would be a great opportunity for me to get my own evaluation and see how her game stacks up against another talented group of incoming freshmen.

Menominee has a very talented court general joining their ranks. Daly is a freshman ready to make an immediate impact in the backcourt. She worked hard to pressure guards on the perimeter and ripped the ball away clean at half court, then raced the other way for a fast break bucket. Daly went by for speedy drive-by layups, earned trips to the line, and showed her outside range by sinking a wing three off the catch. She used a pocket dribble, shifted into high gear to drive by the first defender, forced the help side to commit, then made a great extra pass to an open teammate for the assist. Daly has a strong build and moves her feet quickly with an athletic stance to stop dribble penetration. She used an effective spin move in the low post to get the scoring angle and finished with a nice baby hook over the defender. Daly had a solid day for Menominee at the Big North Shootout.

Impressed everyone all camp, but on championship day she really came to play. Showing everyone that she’s a 3 level scorer and one of the fastest guards with the ball.

I had the chance to see Daly for the first time at the PGH Great Lakes Region Finals while playing up with Wisconsin Blaze Inferno 17U. She’s going to be an instant playmaker for Menominee from day one. Daly already possesses a strong, compact build. She maintains excellent balance as she drives to the rim, absorbs contact, and finishes with strength in traffic. Daly is a court general. She sees the floor, handles the ball skillfully with both hands, sets up teammates, and has unselfish instincts. Daly moves laterally quickly to close driving lanes and plays aggressively on the defensive end.
