Hudson Falls Summer League: Who Were the Standouts?

I have been taking in the games at the Hudson Falls Summer League the past several weeks. Teams from the Foothills Council and Adirondack League have been in action, along with Bolton from the MVAC. The league is held during the week to avoid interfering with AAU events, so most teams typically have their top players on hand. Here is a review of some of the standouts from the Hudson Falls Summer League action.    [player_tooltip player_id='1871454' first='Holly' last='Hirsch'] has a skill set that is tough for any defender to deal with. Hirsch, a rising sophomore, helped lead Glens Falls to a highly successful 2026-2026 campaign in several ways. She is a complete player with very few weaknesses. She can put the ball in the hoop at all three levels. Hirsch is an outstanding shooter from beyond the arc with unlimited range. She can launch her jump shot off the catch or the bounce. Hirsch has a solid handle, excellent court vision, and always seems to find the open player. She runs the floor well and is a strong finisher on the break. Hirsch is also a very good defender and rebounds well for her size.     [player_tooltip player_id='1885359' first='Ariya' last='Viger'] is a player who does a little bit of everything well for Glens Falls. Viger is only scratching the surface of how good she can be. This past season, Viger was the spark plug off the bench for the Black Bears. She is a lockdown defender who creates turnovers with her lateral movement and anticipation ability. Viger is a very good ball handler who can drive to the hoop to score or dish to teammates. She is an excellent 3-point shooter who is solid off the dribble or the catch. She is a scrappy rebounder who reads the ball well off the rim. Expect bigger numbers from Viger in 2026-2027.     [player_tooltip player_id='1891245' first='Vangie' last='Johnson'] is a lightning-quick point guard who commands your attention the second she walks on the court. Johnson is an elite ball handler who knows how to shake loose from defenders. She is superb at getting into the lane, attacking the basket for easy points and scoring in transition. Johnson can break down defenses to find teammates for buckets using her court vision and passing skills. She can step outside and knock down 3-pointers. Johnson has excellent anticipation skills that make her a strong defender.     [player_tooltip player_id='1882496' first='Maggie' last='Speshock'] continues to get better every time I see her play. Her Moriah team doesn't play in this league, so she is helping out the Bolton squad. Speshock is a multi-dimensional scorer. She is a very polished scorer down low with a full arsenal of post moves. Speshock uses her physical strength to dominate the boards and score off putbacks. She is working on her outside game and is becoming a very good outside shooter, including behind the arc. Perhaps Speshock's greatest asset is her unmatched passion to get better.     [player_tooltip player_id='1891355' first='Ava' last='Cormie'] is an explosive combo guard from Argyle. I have seen Cormie play several times during her career, including recently at the Hudson Falls Summer League. Cormie is a natural scorer who can put the ball in the basket at all three levels. Cormie is an exceptional 3-point shooter with unlimited range. She can shoot off the catch or pull up off the dribble. Cormie is a highly skilled ball handler who can get in the lane and score off the bounce. She is a very good passer. Cormie rebounds and defends well, leading to extra scoring opportunities.
