Inside the Gym: SBS Prep Louisiana Girls Basketball Prospects

SBS Prep Louisiana is building something worth paying attention to. The 5-foot-8 Chalmette standout has been listed at multiple positions, showing the flexibility to handle the basketball on the perimeter while also using her strength and physicality around the paint.   Rotunda plays with confidence and brings a mature presence to the floor. She can push the pace, attack openings, and use her frame to finish through contact. Her versatility allows her to create from the guard position, defend different matchups, and provide help on the glass when her team needs it.   Her leadership also stands out. Listed at 5-foot-4, Harris plays with the control and competitive edge needed to direct an offense, create opportunities, and keep teammates involved. Her Prep Girls Hoops profile identifies her as a Mississippi-based guard in the 2028 class, and MaxPreps lists her with Biloxi High School.   Harris has shown that she can do more than simply handle the basketball. In one recent weekend performance, she was credited with averaging 12 points, four-plus assists, three-plus rebounds, and shooting 62 percent from the floor. Those numbers point to a guard who can score efficiently while still creating quality opportunities for others. Kaitlynn Harris is a rising 2028 guard bringing confidence, efficiency, and real playmaking value inside the SBS Prep gym.     <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Inside the Gym: [player_tooltip player_id='1863000' first='Nikyah' last='Gonzales']</h3>   [player_tooltip player_id='1863000' first='Nikyah' last='Gonzales'] is a tough, high-energy point guard who brings speed, confidence, and leadership to the SBS Prep Louisiana backcourt. The 5-foot-4 guard is part of the 2028 class and has also been identified with Chalmette High School.   Gonzales plays with an attacking mentality and is not afraid to compete. She can apply pressure with the ball in her hands, push the pace in transition, and create opportunities by getting downhill. Her hustle and toughness allow her to make an impact even when she is not scoring, especially through defensive pressure, effort plays, and her willingness to battle every possession.   Her growing role with SBS Prep is another sign of her development. Gonzales has been featured as part of the program's young 2028–29 group and recognized among its summer team captains, showing the trust placed in her voice, effort, and ability to lead from the point guard position.   As her shooting consistency, decision-making, and control of tempo continue to improve, Gonzales has the potential to become an even more complete floor general. She has the competitive attitude and backcourt tools to help SBS Prep play faster, defend harder, and stay organized offensively.   Fast. Fearless. Built to lead. [player_tooltip player_id='1863000' first='Nikyah' last='Gonzales'] is a rising 2028 guard bringing toughness, energy, and real leadership inside the SBS Prep gym.     <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Inside the Gym: Keimari Herrien</h3>   Keimari Herrien is a young 2030 combo guard who brings confidence, competitiveness, and promising backcourt upside to SBS Prep. She is listed as a Mississippi prospect and returns to the Lady Crescents as part of a talented group representing the program on the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit.   Herrien has already started building a name for herself at a young age. She previously earned seventh-grade MVP recognition, showing that her ability to perform and stand out against her age group has been noticed. She has also received an invitation to represent Mississippi during The Big Easy All-Star Weekend, giving her another opportunity to compete on a larger stage and gain valuable exposure.   As a combo guard, Herrien has the potential to contribute both as a scorer and secondary ball handler. Her next steps will be continuing to strengthen her decision-making, outside shooting, defensive pressure, and ability to control the game when the basketball is in her hands.
