Not every talented prospect receives immediate attention. Some players build their reputations quietly through effort, production, toughness, and steady improvement. Across Louisiana, several members of the 2029 class are beginning to prove that they deserve a much brighter spotlight.

These prospects may not always have the biggest names, the highest rankings, or the largest social media followings, but their performances are becoming difficult to ignore. Tournament after tournament, they continue to compete, improve, and show that they belong among the top players in their class.

Flying under the radar does not mean lacking talent. In many cases, it means a player has not yet received the right opportunity, exposure, or platform. Some compete for smaller schools or programs. Others play supporting roles on loaded teams. However, when their number is called, they consistently find ways to make an impact.

The 2029 class features hidden talent at every position. Guards are creating pressure with aggressive drives, strong ball handling, court vision, and confident perimeter shooting. Wings are using their versatility to score, rebound, defend, and run the floor. Interior prospects are controlling the paint through physicality, footwork, timing, and effort around the rim.

What makes these players especially exciting is their hunger. They play with something to prove every time they step onto the court. They attack loose balls, compete defensively, communicate with teammates, and refuse to take possessions off. That level of energy often separates a promising athlete from a prospect ready to rise.

Many of these players are also beginning to understand how to impact games without forcing the action. They are making the extra pass, defending multiple positions, setting strong screens, rebounding outside their area, and creating opportunities through effort. Those winning habits may not always appear in the box score, but coaches and scouts notice them.

The biggest challenge for an under-the-radar prospect is remaining patient while continuing to develop. Recognition does not always happen overnight. It is earned through repeated performances, continued growth, and the ability to produce against stronger competition.

These 2029 prospects are building that foundation now.

Every showcase, camp, tournament, and high school game provides another opportunity to change the conversation. One strong performance can create interest, but consistency is what keeps a player's name circulating. The athletes who continue to improve their skills, bodies, basketball IQ, and confidence will eventually force evaluators to take notice.

The exciting part is that these prospects still have time. Their games are developing, their confidence is growing, and their best basketball may still be ahead of them.

They may be overlooked today, but they are not going unnoticed forever.

The talent is there. The production is increasing. The momentum is building.

These 2029 prospects are ready for recognition, and the basketball world should start paying attention.

Did you miss my most recent article?
Tap in using the link below and stay updated on the latest evaluations, rankings, and rising prospects.

Follow me on Instagram or X: @CoachLathan

Next Up: New Talent Enters Louisiana's 2029 Rankings | Prep Girls Hoops

Trending Up: 2029 Prospects Building Serious Buzz | Prep Girls Hoops

Louisiana 2029 Rankings Update: New Prospects Join the List | Prep Girls Hoops

Welcome to the List: Louisiana's New 2029 Prospects | Prep Girls Hoops

The List Just Got Deeper: New 2029 Prospects Added | Prep Girls Hoops

July Rankings Update: New Prospects Enter the 2029 List | Prep Girls Hoops

Ready for Recognition: [player_tooltip player_id='1879051' first='Chyna' last='Rogers']

[player_tooltip player_id='1879051' first='Chyna' last='Rogers'] is a developing 2029 prospect who brings legitimate size and intriguing upside to Southwood. At 6-foot, she has the physical tools to become a strong interior presence, impact the rebounding battle, and make life difficult for opponents around the basket.

Rogers is still flying under the radar, but her name is beginning to surface. She earned recognition on the 2025–26 All-District 1-4A team, showing that her contributions are already being noticed within a competitive Southwood program.

Her size gives her a strong foundation, but continued growth in her footwork, finishing, defensive positioning, and overall confidence could take her game to another level. As she becomes more comfortable using her length and physical presence, Rogers has the potential to develop into a dependable rebounder, rim protector, and inside scoring option.

The production is starting to show, the potential is clearly there, and [player_tooltip player_id='1879051' first='Chyna' last='Rogers'] is a 2029 prospect who deserves more attention.

Ready for Recognition: [player_tooltip player_id='1862974' first='Jaidyn' last='Smith']

[player_tooltip player_id='1862974' first='Jaidyn' last='Smith'] is a strong interior prospect whose production and potential deserve more attention. The 5-foot-10 Castor center/power forward gives her team size, toughness, and a dependable presence around the basket. She was also recognized as an honorable mention selection in District 1-B during the 2024–25 season, showing that her impact was already being noticed early in her high school career.

Smith can provide value by battling for rebounds, establishing position inside, protecting the paint, and finishing opportunities near the rim. Her ability to play both frontcourt positions gives Castor flexibility and allows her to match up against different types of post players. Hudl lists her as a varsity center in the 2029 class, adding to the experience she is already gaining at a young age.

As her footwork, confidence, and offensive touch continue to develop, Smith has the foundation to become an even more effective two-way force. She may still be flying under the radar statewide, but the tools, early recognition, and upside are clearly present.

[player_tooltip player_id='1862974' first='Jaidyn' last='Smith'] is a physical 2029 frontcourt prospect who is ready to step out of the shadows and earn greater recognition across Louisiana.

Ready for Recognition: [player_tooltip player_id='1877148' first='Libby' last='Pickett']

What helps Libby separate herself is her defensive presence. She has shown the ability to pressure ball handlers, create steals, and consistently do her job on that end of the floor. Her effort and toughness were recognized with a spot on the 2025-2026 All-District 3-2A All-Defensive Team, and her ability to come up with steals in key games shows just how disruptive she can be.

Offensively, Pickett's game is trending in the right direction. Her ball handling has improved, her confidence as a shooter is growing, and she is becoming more comfortable attacking off the dribble. She can score in transition, knock down perimeter shots, and use a strong pump fake to get defenders off balance before driving to the basket. That added confidence is beginning to unlock more of her all-around game.

Libby is still flying under the radar, but the signs are there. She is a guard who plays hard, competes on every possession, and continues to make strides as a scorer and playmaker. If her development continues at this pace, Pickett has a strong chance to become one of the more respected under-the-radar guards in Louisiana's 2029 class.

Tough. Active. Rising. [player_tooltip player_id='1877148' first='Libby' last='Pickett'] is a stock-rising 2029 guard who looks ready for recognition.

Ready for Recognition: [player_tooltip player_id='1860403' first='Caeley' last='Upshaw']

[player_tooltip player_id='1860403' first='Caeley' last='Upshaw'] is an energetic 2029 combo guard whose two-way impact deserves more attention. The Airline prospect brings quick hands, strong defensive instincts, and the willingness to pressure opposing ball handlers from the opening possession.

Upshaw creates problems with her on-ball defense, basketball IQ, and ability to force turnovers. She plays with consistent hustle, competes through physical contact, and gives her team an immediate spark whenever she enters the game. Her effort does not disappear when the game becomes challenging.

Offensively, Upshaw continues to grow with confidence. She can attack downhill, finish in transition, and use a controlled mid-range shot to keep defenders honest. Her ability to handle the basketball, read the defense, and make quick decisions gives her the potential to develop into a dependable floor general.

As her perimeter shooting and offensive consistency continue improving, Upshaw has the tools to become a productive backcourt option for Airline. She may be flying under the radar now, but her defense, energy, and steady development are becoming difficult to overlook.

Quick hands. High motor. Two-way potential. [player_tooltip player_id='1860403' first='Caeley' last='Upshaw'] is a rising 2029 guard who is ready for recognition.

Ready for Recognition: [player_tooltip player_id='1873311' first='Reagan' last='Scott']

[player_tooltip player_id='1873311' first='Reagan' last='Scott'] is the kind of prospect whose impact goes far beyond the box score. The Many High School forward brings energy, toughness, and a relentless competitive spirit every time she steps onto the floor. Her effort at the JSE Team Camp helped her stand out as part of Louisiana's rising 2029 class.

Scott plays with a fearless downhill mentality. She attacks the basket with purpose, welcomes contact, and looks to put constant pressure on the defense. Her willingness to battle around the rim creates finishing opportunities, draws fouls, and opens space for her teammates.

Her strongest qualities currently show on the defensive end. Scott moves her feet, pressures ball handlers, competes for rebounds, and refuses to back away from difficult assignments. She also brings a high motor, fighting for loose balls and making the hustle plays that can shift momentum.

As Scott continues tightening her handle, expanding her finishing package, and building confidence in her perimeter game, her overall ceiling should keep rising. She may be flying under the radar now, but her toughness, heart, and winning effort are becoming difficult to ignore.

[player_tooltip player_id='1873311' first='Reagan' last='Scott'] plays with fight, embraces the physical side of the game, and brings the type of energy that cannot be taught. Keep her name on the radar—she is ready for recognition.

Not every talented prospect receives immediate attention. Some players build their reputations quietly through effort, production, toughness, and steady improvement. Across Louisiana, several members of the 2029 class are beginning to prove that they deserve a much brighter spotlight.
