The evaluation and rankings process was expedited this spring and summer due to the volume of Prep Girls Hoops tournaments in Michigan and mass participation by clubs and teams on our Prep Girls Hoops Circuit. The Prep Girls Hoops College Tour series and Prep Girls Hoops Michigan State Tournament gave us five chances to see prospects compete locally right here in Michigan. Nearly every club with college prospects in Michigan competed in front of our scouts at one Prep Girls Hoops tournament, and many clubs attended more than one. This reality created the perfect environment for us to evaluate prospects from across the state against various levels of competition.

After actively evaluating prospects during the first travel session, we now have 235 players ranked. Height, size, speed, athleticism, fundamental skill development, the position a player is projected to play at the next level, and performance in different competitive settings are all taken into account. Our goal with every class is to accurately group prospects into the correct categories of college potential/projection. By the end of senior year, each class breaks down into clear categories: Power Four/D1+, D1/D2+, D2/NAIA+/D3+/JUCO+, NAIA/D3/JUCO, and NAIA/D3 reserve. As I've written many times, the levels of college basketball intersect, cross, and differ in competitive ability throughout all the divisions. All high school classes do not have the same size, talent, or level of college talent. However, based on my tracking of commitments over the past three years, there appears to be a predictable trend in Michigan.

Based on data from the 2024, 2025, and 2026 classes, there could be approximately 410 or more prospects per grade who can play some level of college basketball. There will always be multisport athletes who don't do travel basketball or play in some remote area where we just don't get the opportunity to identify them for our rankings, despite our best efforts. Using averages from the past three classes, there may be anywhere from 10-20 D1 commits, 20-30 D2 commits, and 125-140 NAIA/D3/JUCO commits in a particular class. However, this 2028 class is clearly going to be an outlier. The number of prospects rated as D1/D2+ and D2/D3+/NAIA+/JUCO+ is greater than the typical average, with the biggest increase happening with 20+ prospects rated D1/D2+ and 55+ prospects rated as D2/NAIA+/D3+/JUCO+. The outcome of this surplus of talent/depth will hopefully mean more opportunities for these high school prospects to play impactful minutes at the best college level for them in Michigan, across the Midwest, and wherever they decide to go.

If you'd like to learn more about the rankings and evaluation process, please utilize the thorough articles below.

How We Rank

Michigan Rankings All-Access

UPCOMING PGH EVENTS (Use "EvanBell10" code for discount)

The Freshman Showcase (2030s), August 22nd

Registration Link

The Expo (2027-2029s), September 26th

Registration Link

Annie caught our attention after her Top Peformer effort for [program_tooltip program_id='714462' first='Michigan' last='Premier'] 16U Guenther at the Northwood PGH College Tour. Annie has the strength, size, and physicality needed to play inside, but she can also handle the ball in the open court and stretch the floor with her three-point shooting. She's aggressive on the defensive end and goes up strong to finish layups through contact off two feet. Annie will be a prospect in this class to keep on your radar.

Leanne is the next promising Ajami coming through Fordson, and she looks like a prospect who could really break out soon. She's long, athletic, mobile, and very disruptive on the defensive end. Leanne jumps passes on the perimeter to create steals and has the getaway quickness to push the ball all the way to the basket for layups. She's a strong rebounder and uses her length to force misses inside effectively, causing deflections and blocks.

Daena is an athletic guard who stole the spotlight during session one of the Zero Star Showcase. It was my first time seeing her play, and she made a phenomenal first impression. She's very athletic, strong, and competes with a high motor. Daena has a dribble burst on her drives, changes hands comfortably, and absorbs contact well to score at the rim. She sees the floor well as a facilitator, works hard to secure rebounds, and keeps the ball in front of her on the defensive end. Daena hasn't hit her ceiling yet and will be a prospect in the U.P. to pay attention to over the next two seasons.

Vanessa has length, athleticism, and a relentless motor on the court that immediately shouts college potential. She's mobile and physical in the paint. Vanessa works hard to disrupt shots on the defensive end and crashes the boards to score offensive rebound putbacks. She runs the floor well in transition and was a prospect from Mercy who stood out at BCAM Reaching Higher.

It's not often that a prospect goes from unknown to top 100. Madason is the exception to the norm. She was a Top Performer for Michigan Goonies at every stop along the PGH Michigan College Tour. Madason has athleticism and explosive quickness off the dribble that makes her a matchup nightmare for opposing guards. She creates separation, accelerates, and finishes at the rim. Madason knocks down smooth mid-range jumpers and shots from beyond the arc. She's aggressive on the glass, scores strong putbacks, and takes the ball coast-to-coast for full-court layups. Madason creates turnovers with her quick hands and ball pressure on the perimeter. She had a breakout spring on the PGH Circuit and is a prospect college coaches need to have on their radar.

London's athleticism and length as a guard immediately caught my eye during games for [program_tooltip program_id='714458' first='Michigan' last='Cobras'] on the PGH Circuit. She's aggressive and active in the passing lanes, creating turnovers with her anticipation and quick hands. London competes with a high motor, closes out hard on shooters, and blocks shots effectively in the paint and on the perimeter. She drives hard downhill and has the strength to absorb contact and finish at the rim. London hasn't hit her ceiling yet and definitely has the potential to keep climbing the list.
