The GUAA Stars Aligned at Run 4 Roses

The first NCAA July live period delivered exactly what college coaches hoped for as many of the nation's top prospects gathered at the Kentucky Exposition Center for Run 4 Roses as well as other venues around the country. 80 total courts in action with GUAA Session II in the middle of it all showcased elite Under Armour talent on nearly every court to create one of the best evaluation environments of the summer. While countless players turned in strong performances, a select group I watched consistently separated themselves with their skill, athleticism, production, and ability to take over games. Here are some of the cream-of-the-crop performers who stood out during my time in Louisville:    Marlee continues to solidify herself as one of the premier long-term prospects in the 2028 class. She showcased her versatility by blocking a shot, taking the ball coast-to-coast for a score, and following her own miss for an offensive rebound and putback. She also displayed good elevation on her jumper, handled the ball comfortably in space, and used her length to impact the game on both ends of the floor. What stands out most is her outstanding frame and athleticism which give her tremendous upside as she continues to develop. It's no surprise that her recruitment has accelerated once again since Session II, adding offers from Virginia Tech, Houston, Purdue, and Texas A&M. With her combination of size, skill, and projectability, she will remain one of the most heavily recruited prospects in the 2028 class.     Mya was one of the most complete offensive players I watched in Louisville and looked every bit like a prospect capable of making an immediate impact at the next level. She used her strength and body control to create space, and in the game I watched, she scored in double figures with her left hand alone when around the hoop. What made that so impressive was that it wasn't just layups. She consistently finished with touch on runners, short pull-ups, and controlled finishes around the paint. Mya also scored from all three levels, knocking down a smooth pull-up jumper and connecting from deep with a quick, high release. I don't get to watch her often, but her increased confidence, pace, and physicality immediately stood out. She has a smooth, effortless style, can get her shot off in a hurry, and possesses excellent positional size to impact both ends of the floor. She has all the tools to be a Day 1 contributor when she steps onto a college campus, wherever she ultimately decides to play.     Iniya continues to show why she's one of the toughest matchups on the floor. She has a knack for making difficult shots, elevates well on her jumper, and attacks the glass with the same explosiveness. She is often outjumping everyone around the basket for those rebounds. Once she gets downhill, her speed makes her extremely difficult to contain, and she consistently finishes plays with confidence and superior athleticism. Defensively, her length allows her to disrupt passing lanes, and multiple times she looked like a safety jumping in front of a pass for an interception. She stayed active on both ends of the floor, competed on every possession, and used her athleticism and motor to make plays that will impact winning at the next level.     Trinity showcased the poise and composure you want from a point guard by controlling the tempo while making smart decisions with the ball in her hands. She handled defensive pressure well, never looked rushed, and rarely forced the action when allowing the offense to flow naturally. Trinity also showed the ability to create her own shot by needing very little space to get her jumper off. She logged heavy minutes and contributed in a variety of ways beyond scoring from every level and consistently made the right play and provided a steady presence on both ends of the floor.     Kyndoll was an absolute force in the game I watched by impacting the action on both ends of the floor with her size, strength, and physicality. She protected the rim with blocked shots, finished efficiently around the basket, and showed the ability to stretch the defense by knocking down perimeter shots when left with time and space. She buried a huge three late in the game, reminding everyone that defenders have to respect her range. Her combination of interior presence and floor-spacing ability makes her a difficult matchup, and it's no surprise she added offers from Purdue and Georgetown after another impressive showing.     Lily is a prospect whose recruitment continues to gain momentum, and it's easy to see why. She has the size, mobility, frame, and length that college coaches covet in a frontcourt player. She ran the floor well, played quality minutes, and made her presence felt on the glass and in the paint throughout the games I witnessed. Her long-term upside is tremendous as her physical tools provide an excellent foundation to build upon. After another strong showing in Louisville, it came as no surprise to see her add an offer from Howard.
