Expert Analysis

Coleman has had a hell of an AAU season so far, and she does not look like she is slowing down anytime soon. From a talent standpoint, she has all the tools of a standout wing, but what continues to set her apart is the playmaking she shows in the flow of the game. There are flashes that make you think she could eventually grow into more of a point forward as her career continues. Defensively, she is just as talented as she is on the offensive side, and as she gets more comfortable guarding shiftier guards and wings, you are looking at a player who should continue to rise on the national ranking side.

Coleman is in the conversation with some of the best wings in the country, let alone one of the best players in the state. Her game is simple, but beyond effective. She has great size, great length, and the right pace to get by defenders while still staying in control. She has a soft touch at the rim and covers the paint with ease. Tremendous talent at such a young age.

Reliable from the free-throw line. Rebounding machine- great job crashing the boards! She covers so much ground in no time with her quickness! But here’s what stands out just as loud as your skills: Character! I love how you help not only your teammates up, but also opponents from the floor. You show class. (Below, shooting)

Marlee has all the intangibles and a solid skillset at her age, and she has figured out how to put it together enough to be one of the top prospects in this state. Most of her dominance comes from her ability to attack the rim and absorb any contact that’s there, but she can stretch the court and hit the corner ball if it’s open. As her game expands to more confidence in putting the ball on the ground, we can be looking at one of the next stars out of the Midwest.

The competition that Marlee plays on a game-to-game basis is usually against programs that have multiple high-level prospects on their roster, and Marlee, at her age, was able to hold her own. The growth she has shown in a matter of months is key to why more P5 offers were sent out to her this month. She’s in the conversation about who’s the best prospect in the state, let alone her class.

Easily one of the best prospects in this class, Marlee has been a consistent impact for both her high school program as well as her AAU program. The upside is clear and can’t be denied. She will be a top 3 player in this class until she graduates and beyond, and it’s simply because she continues to get better over time. She has the college frame, the college athletics, and the versatility to be dominant on both ends of the floor. St Laurence will be a program to watch all season.

A top prospect in the state regardless of class. Coleman has already been a dominant player, and I don’t think she’s truly tapped into her skillset yet, or even is aware of how high her potential is based on what she’s showing now. Athleticism and size have been key for her, and when the wing skillset kicks in.. she will be a problem.

Marlee-Michelle demonstrated qualities that give her a very high ceiling as a next-level prospect. She used her length to block shots and was an offensive rebounding force in the Championship game. Marlee has an effective face-up game She used a quick crossover dribble to beat her defender, got downhill with a burst, forced the help to commit, and dished a perfect dump off on the money for an assist. She showed confidence handling the ball with both hands and had a nice finish off two feet in the paint. Marlee showed a ton of promise this weekend with Example Sports Wolfpack 2026 at our PGH Victory Region Finals.

as a hooper. Her 6’2 frame, combined with her physicality and situational awareness makes for a tough matchup against anyone. She can kill you in every way imaginable as she attacks the rim and that was something we saw time and time again this weekend. MMC really stands out within 15FT of the bucket. Offensively, she can catch in the mid-post and go to work over someone smaller, she can attack off the bounce going downhill near the paint, she can clean up missed shot attempts coming from her teammates, and she can pass out of the post if she is ever double-teamed. MMC had a respectable weekend. She made her presence felt each ball game and that’s not something everyone is able to say looking back.

I have seen some really impressive prospects so far this AAU season on the road. The most impressive out of Illinois this Spring being Marlee Michelle Coleman. MMC is a calculated monster for her age. There is just no other way to put it in words. The combination of size, physicality, touch, situational awareness, and skill that she possesses is extremely impressive for her Class. Offensively, She can kill you off the bounce going to the hoop, she can use her natural height to score over smaller opponents, and she can pull up for a smooth jumper at certain times if she has enough space. Defensively, this is someone that can switch 1-5 right now for the most part. I wouldn’t be shocked if MMC found herself on ESPNW’s Top 25 list this upcoming summer when that Player Ranking Update comes out. I’ve had a chance to evaluate several players from the 2028 Class in person in the past year and MMC is really like that.
