2030s Summer Stock Report: Part 2

The Class of 2030 continue to make its presence known as freshman season approaches. They showed skills and qualities that could help them make an impact early in their careers. Here are 6 players who caught my attention with their performances this summer.    Doyle shows her athleticism and versatility on the boards, grabbing defensive rebounds and handling the ball coast to coast through defenders to finish at the rim. She is active on the offensive glass as well and has the skill to bring the ball back out and pull up for a three. She also attacks well from the perimeter, using her pivot foot and quick moves to create space before driving past and splitting defenders on her way to the basket.     Tran is a determined scorer with shifty handles, using crossovers and changes of direction to get around defenders and create space for her shot. She attacks gaps well in transition, can finish tough looks around the basket, and uses her dribble to adjust when the defense takes away here initial scoring opportunity. She can also knock down threes, making herself available on the perimeter and launching it as soon as she gets the ball.     Heavayah attacks baseline with purpose and stays focused on the finish, while also finding open space on the perimeter to put herself in position to score off kickouts. She runs the floor well in transition, getting ahead of the defense and moving toward the basket for easy scoring opportunities. She also brings energy defensively, anticipating passes, collecting steals in the press, and hustling to poke the ball away and quickly turning those takeaways into offense.     Cuffee is a strong interior player who positions herself well around the basket, posts up on the block, and uses her footwork to create space and finish around defenders. She crashes the boards for putbacks and also shows good awareness as a passer, finding teammates on the perimeter with kickouts. Defensively, she uses her length, quick reactions, and anticipation to block shots, intercept passes, and turn steals into transition points.     Brown stands out with her ability to score in transition, using a spin move to protect the ball, get around defenders, and finish for an and-one. She can also knock down threes and attacks the basket extremely well, knowing how to initiate contact while staying focused on the finish. Her defense helps create momentum for her offense, as she uses her active hands to collect steals, gets on the boards, and quickly pushes it up the floor.     Moore is patient with the ball on the perimeter and creates separation, using a sharp crossover into her stepback to knock down threes and showing she can shoot off the dribble. She makes strong takes to the basket, attacking gaps, splitting defenders, and finishing through contact, while also scoring effectively in transition with defenders on her hip. She also creates for her teammates, delivering passes to cutters and leading them to the basket for easy layups.
