Elevating at the Sophomore ID Camp

The Sophomore ID Camp buzzed with eager participants ready to carve out a name for themselves. Each player brought their unique flair to the court, turning heads with standout performances. Meet some of the sophomores whose stock is quickly rising.    Johnson has taken her point guard skills to new heights this summer, playing with sky-high confidence. She commands the court with poise, handling the ball smoothly and making good decisions in transition. Johnson can finish at the rim and knock down deep threes. Though she may not be the fastest, her strength stands out as she powers through defenders and absorbs contact. Expect this sophomore to keep climbing for Montrose.     Abeyta steps onto the court brimming with confidence. Her improved three-point shot and newfound consistency have turned heads. Abeyta's hard work also shows in her finishing around the rim and her passing. On defense, she brings relentless pressure, always hunting for steals and disrupting opponents' plays. The Westminster guard is primed for a big season this year.     Hollingshead's showing at the ID Camp highlighted her steady summer growth. She continues to shine as a pass-first point guard, orchestrating plays with good handles and court vision. Hollingshead attacks the paint with purpose, finishing through traffic or finding open shooters. Defensively, she is aggressive, often gambling but has enough athleticism to recover and pressure opposing guards. The rising sophomore guard is looking to have a larger role this season for Arapahoe.     Camping had a solid performance at this year's ID Camp, playing with energy and knocking down shots. Her ideal size at the shooting guard position allows her to get her shot off over smaller defenders. She plays with intelligence, finishes well, and thrives within the team concept. A strong rebounder and reliable defender, Camping is ready to leave her mark at Windsor this year.     Banks has made major strides in her game, and her confidence has reached new heights this summer. She is a dependable defender for her size, thriving in press situations and using her straight-line speed to pick off passes. Banks does a good job of releasing early on defense, leaking out in transition where her teammates found her for easy scoring opportunities. With Riverdale's starting lineup gone, Banks is on a mission to become the Ravens' go-to scorer this season.     Queen's game is built on energy and hustle. She is quick on her feet, making her a solid defensive asset. Queen scores in transition, using her speed to get by defenders, either finishing or drawing fouls to get to the line. Her decision-making has improved since her first year, and the Forge Christian sophomore looks to have a bigger role this coming winter.
