Florida Freshman Showcase: Team 10 Evaluations

The Freshman bought the excitement on Sunday. They came in with a swagger that was unmatched at the Seminole Sports Academy. It was my first time getting a up close look at the Class of 2030 for Florida and these athletes were all as advertised. Here is a closer look at the Team 10.    McCloud played lights on Sunday. A true point guard that knows the meaning of playing with pace. One of the quickest players with extraordinary handles which allowed her to do magic with the basketball in her hands. A player that is a true floor general that gets everyone going on offense and defense. She dominated off the dribble, rather she was shooting the from behind the arc, mid-range or finishing at the rim. McCloud knows how to score and has fun on the floor.     Dixon showed she has all the intangibles to score through the contact. Rather she was driving to the basket or pulling up in transition, she was always on balance and in scoring position. A player that lurks in the passing lane and knows when to shoot the gaps and apply pressure to her opponents. Her defense was key to keeping her team in games and getting stops down the stretch.     Lowe was one of the best communicators on the floor which made her team better. A player that lets her defense fuel her on the offensive end. She was not afraid to pressure all 5 positions. High motor and attributes to be the best defender on the floor. She gets her teammates involved and scores when needed.     Morris has great size and length at the guard spot. Her size allowed her to play inside as well as outside. If a smaller player was guarding her, she posted them up inside and if a big picked her up she showed her ability to rip and get to the basket. A match up nightmare for most opponents.     Flores is a player that loves to move without the basketball and is down and ready to shoot on the next pass. Knows how to read the screens which help her to get open to get her shot off. Pushes the ball well and understand lane assignments which allow her to score in transition. Great court awareness and grit that makes her tough on offense and defense.     King is a knock down shooter that loves to lurk around the arc. If you run her off the 3-point arc she has the ability to get to the basket. Tough Guard that sees the floor well and is always controlling the flow of the game. Passes the ball well in transition and is always looking to score at the rim.     Ramsey is a player that can shoot the 3 ball and post up on the block. She has a knack for the ball and loves to rebound and create extra possessions. Knows how to pass the ball out of the paint and look for the favorable match ups. High IQ combo player that will play a major role for her high school team this season.     Ekezie is a player with all the intangibles to be a top player in the state as a freshman. Once you watch her play it's hard to believe she is only a freshman. Can score inside the paint and knows how to rebound and score at will. She showed her ability to knock down the 3 ball which made the defense respect her ability to score at all 3 levels. Soft touch at the rim. A player with tremendous upside and will only get better as the year goes on.     LoCascio-Choroco is a player you build around. Great size and workhorse on both ends of the floor. Clogs the paint and passing lanes with length and knows how to rebound with the best of them. Hustles to every loose ball and understands the concept of playing defense with high hands. Can score when needed but did the things that may not show up in the score book.
