Morris has great size and length at the guard spot. Her size allowed her to play inside as well as outside. If a smaller player was guarding her, she posted them up inside and if a big picked her up she showed her ability to rip and get to the basket. A match up nightmare for most opponents.

What separated Morris was her athleticism, length, and ability to defend on the ball and in the passing lanes. She was a solid defender who did a lot of the little things that impacted the game when we last saw her. Morris can battle in the middle, step outside and defend on the perimeter, and use her length to create problems for opposing players. Her defensive versatility gives her a chance to impact the game in multiple areas of the floor. Morris also played well in transition, spaced the floor effectively, and made quality passes to her teammates. Her ability to contribute in so many different ways makes her an intriguing young playmaker.

Aysia is guard in this 2030 class to know and has the benefit of learning from two older sisters who have already made their mark on the Florida basketball scene which gives her a strong foundation at an early age. She possesses good positional size, a strong frame, and solid athleticism highlighted by a nice vertical to get her shot off or grab boards. Offensively, she has clean shooting mechanics with a smooth release and high release point that project well as her range and release speed continue to evolve. With her physical tools, athletic upside, and family basketball background, Aysia has all the ingredients to develop into one of the top guards in Florida’s 2030 class with continued development and work.

Delaysia Morris was one of the more impressive young defenders observed in the 14U division, using her athleticism, instincts, and activity level to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Her on-ball defense was really good and she competed on every possession. She is one of those players who finds herself around the basketball, prevents drives to the rim, and can steal the ball if it’s not handled properly. Offensively, she showed good speed, ran the floor effectively, and capitalized on opportunities on the break. Her athleticism, defensive presence, and overall feel for the game made her a standout among the younger prospects in attendance.
