Freshman Showcase: Team Four Shows a Little Bit of Everything

Team Four had a good mixture of players who could handle the ball, create offense, defend and bring energy in different ways. Throughout the showcase, this group had several players who stood out by playing within themselves, making good reads and finding ways to contribute without forcing the action.    Sophia Hohenshelt showed a good basketball IQ and rarely looked rushed with the ball in her hands. She played at her own pace and allowed the game to come to her instead of forcing things offensively.     Kaliyah Lopez looked good playing the point guard spot and showed some comfort running the offense. She made some good reads while also finding opportunities to create for herself when they were there.     Lilly Kemp did a good job crashing the glass and competing for extra possessions. Offensively, she found ways to fill in the holes and put herself in positions where she could help her team.     Smriti Prashanthi Vijay consistently kept her head up while dribbling, allowing her to see the entire floor and recognize what was developing. She controlled the game well with the ball in her hands and helped create open looks for her teammates.     Nelaya Yslas played an unselfish style and didn't try to force herself into the action. She stayed within her game and looked to make the right play when opportunities came her way.     Amelia Oehlert showed that she could put the ball on the floor and find ways to get to the rim. She also passed the ball well and was willing to get her teammates involved when the defense collapsed.     Learyn Wall brought energy whenever she stepped onto the floor and looked to make her presence felt. She stayed involved in the action and found different ways to contribute throughout the showcase.     Tia Waits seemed to always find herself in the right spot offensively and was ready when opportunities came her way. She knocked down looks from multiple levels of the floor and showed good awareness without the ball.     Madeline showed a little bit of everything on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. She handled the ball well for her size, played with a good motor and showed the versatility to impact the game in different areas.     Alinina was a high-energy player who brought plenty of hustle whenever she was on the floor. She played hard from possession to possession and found ways to give her team a boost with her effort.
