Other Players I Noted During the Grassroots Season

Now that the grassroots season has ended, we will spend a few days looking at some players who haven't announced their plans to play at the next level. Plenty of 2027 prospects have committed to programs around the country, and some 2028 prospects in Wisconsin and beyond have announced their plans to play at schools at the next level. That said, we will look at some players who have excelled this spring and summer and earned looks from college coaches.    I hadn't seen the Viroqua native in person until I saw her with her [program_tooltip program_id='713332' first='Team' last='Wisconsin'] group. Schwem's athleticism jumped out from the first minute I saw her on the floor, and her speed allowed her to make plays by getting to the basket or by disrupting opposing ball handlers on the perimeter. She has all the physical tools to affect the game at the point of attack, and she still has plenty of room to grow as a player.     The Hortonville native has the physical tools to be an impact player if everything comes together for her. Biese is a skilled wing who can operate with the ball in her hands and create her shot any time down the floor. She's an impressive athlete with the physical tools to make plays on the defensive end. She has the potential to be an impact player in the FVA if she finds the next level in her game, and I'm eager to see if she can this winter.     I didn't get a chance to see Green play this past winter at Janesville Craig. I thought she was one of the more skilled players in her class and showed some promise each time I saw her play with her Playground Elite group this spring and summer. She's a physical kid with the footwork to work into space around the basket and score in traffic. She plays with an edge that I love, and I'm curious to see where her talent takes her over the next three years.     I was more than impressed with what Thomson brought to the floor when I saw her this past grassroots season. The 5-10 wing from Lena is a versatile player who excels at getting to the basket and scoring in the paint. Thomson is also a comfortable ball handler who can protect the ball against pressure. I also like the physicality she brings around the basket and how well she can rebound on both ends.
