Previewing Sectional 2 in Division 3

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The grassroots season for me is over, and I'm shifting my attention towards the 2026-27 WIAA Girls Basketball Season. I haven't had much time to look at the new sectionals over the past month, so as I start previewing sectionals, I will be taking a deep dive into each field for the first time. That said, let's look at the fields in each division and sectional for this upcoming season. After we finish up previewing each sectional, I'll make my predictions in each division.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Favorites</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Winneconne</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Wolves were unlucky to land in Oostburg's sectional last season and had to play one of the best teams in the state to make the state tournament, and came up short. Winneconne has a talented senior duo with size in [player_tooltip player_id='751291' first='Grace' last='Mitchell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1162234' first='Harper' last='Neace'] who will play alongside each other at the next level at Winona State. However, they have the experience and talent to get this team over the hump this winter and earn a place at the D3 State Tournament. There is also some younger talent, including [player_tooltip player_id='1223776' first='Ari' last='Reetz'], who could play a prominent role this coming winter in their pursuit of a Sectional Plaque, and potentially a gold ball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Contenders</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Mosinee</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mosinee was missing their senior leader last season, but got on a hot streak around the new year and used that momentum to reach the state tournament with a younger group. Paetyn Jischele was a reliable lead guard who played well under pressure and knocked down open shots. I also like the talented frontcourt prospect in [player_tooltip player_id='874409' first='Pacyn' last='Stoffel'], who excelled at scoring around the basket. I like the talent this group has and the tools to be one of the better teams in Central Wisconsin over the next few years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Seymour</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Thunder have a talented young player in [player_tooltip player_id='1229383' first='Natalie' last='Rudnick'] who had an impressive spring and summer on the grassroots circuit. She is a talented defender who takes pride in her ability to limit the opposing team's best player when in man defense. I also think her offensive game has come along well this past summer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Dark Horses</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Little Chute</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Mustangs have a young group of kids who helped take this team to another level once they got to campus. [player_tooltip player_id='879591' first='Lauren' last='Vosters'], [player_tooltip player_id='879596' first='Hattie' last='Grishaber'], and [player_tooltip player_id='879916' first='Adalyn' last='Engle'] had an excellent start to their high school careers and have the potential to make an impact over the next three years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
